Podcast Request - please stop using VBR

Sorry if this is not posted in the correct place but I can't find an area for podcast feedback/comments anywhere on the site.

I listen to my podcasts on my Palm and of the twenty that I listen to regularly DVDTalkRadio is the only one which is recorded at a variable bit rate.

My player (PocketTunes) has trouble with VBR files. It plays them just fine but gets confused over the length and often underestimates DVDTalkRadio's length.

A fixed bit rate of 40 or 48 bps ought to be more than acceptable for the show and would solve my problem.

Would this be possible?

As long as we're making feedback comments on the podcast: my iPodder never seems to pick up anything from DVDTalk Radio (neither did Doppler when I was using that). I always have to manually download. It's the only site I have that problem with, so I hope it's not just something I'm doing wrong.

Haven't had a problem relating to VBR though. :)

What feed are you using?

it should be:
http://www.dvdtalkradio.com/index.xml

We use feedburner, so I just updated some settings in there. Let me know if there's a change if any in the feed.

I take that back.

Just finished listening to the Batman podcast. The iPod (and the DVDTalkRadio site) says the length of it was 33 minutes. It was at least 11 minutes shorter.

OK... I'll condsider that for future podcasts.

Now, let's hope it "sticks" :)
