I think the Controversial Classics pop up is controversial

Damn thing keeps popping up. Can something be done about it?

NCMojo 05-18-05 12:16 PM

Just came here to post about that. Please, please make it go away!

Chew 05-18-05 12:18 PM

Glad I'm not the only one! That's getting seriously annoying.

dick_grayson 05-18-05 12:21 PM

don't you have the dvdtalk pop-up blocker installed?

Definately annoying. Sad thing is, I keep closing it even though I know it will pop up on the next click.

D.

Shannon Nutt 05-18-05 12:37 PM

Yes...get rid of it! Once is fine, but every time we load or reload a page is crazy!

Toad 05-18-05 12:47 PM

Do you guys not use IE popup blocker?

Groucho 05-18-05 12:48 PM

I don't block ads at DVDTalk (it's against the TOS), but I agree...this one is out of control.

Toad 05-18-05 12:52 PM

It's against the terms of service to have a popup blocker that comes with the software someone uses to view the website that then has popups? :s

Wow, I just checked and it IS against the rules to have popup blockers!

That would require my company to actually upgrade to XP. I don't see that happening any time soon.

Plus, I don't have admin access to install anything else that would help. :(

Yep. Same here.

The Infidel 05-18-05 01:14 PM

Consider my vote cast for eliminating the "Controversial Classics" pop-up. Once when we first log onto the site is fine, but not every time we go to a new forum and again when we click on a thread. Heavy-duty overkill.

Ginwen 05-18-05 01:23 PM

I'm hoping it's just a mistake that this is popping up every time I click anywhere on this site.

bboisvert 05-18-05 01:27 PM

I preordered the thing months before it came out... this fucking annoying ad makes me want to return it. ;)

Seriously, what's up? Why won't it go away?

naitram 05-18-05 01:29 PM

this pop up needs to :chainsaw:

Michael T Hudson 05-18-05 01:57 PM

Agree it needs to go.

GeoffK 05-18-05 02:13 PM

it will be gone VERY soon

Chew 05-18-05 02:17 PM

Thanks for checking into it.

Seeker 05-18-05 02:42 PM

Annoying enough to come here and find this thread to post in.

Yuck!

If I hadn't already bought the Controversial Classics set, this damn pop-up would keep from buying it, it pisses me off so much.

Actually, since I already own it, shouldn't I be exempt from having to see the pop-up?
