election forum future

Now that the election is over, I assume that the election forum will be closed in a few days, just like the war forum.

I know this has been discussed ad naseum, but i think it is worth metioning again.... can the election forum be changed to the "political" forum? IMO the other forum is a nicer place when politics have their own place.

I see that even betting/gambling has their own subforum now.

Groucho 11-03-04 08:13 AM

Close it so we can take our partisan bickering back to Other!

GeoffK 11-03-04 10:16 AM

Damn that fat lady singing.

Yes, I'm thinking over keeping it as the Politics Forum

AndyCapps 11-03-04 10:26 AM

Maybe you could move it to Canada.

Please do! I can't imagine what Other would look like today. At least keep the subforum until it slows down to Book Talk level. :)

das Monkey 11-03-04 04:21 PM

I don't know where you draw the line of "politics" but I have enjoyed having that forum and wouldn't mind seeing something like it remain now that the <s>erection</s> election is over.

das

Tommy Ceez 11-03-04 09:44 PM

Other is actually more fun now that I know its mostly goofy shit and I never run into a thread about Michael Moore

I'd suggest waiting to see where the discussion turns now that the election is over. My guess is that it will become The War Room. Before the campaigns got going that was the bulk of the political threads.

THANK YOU!! Otter's never been better.

Well, it has, but it's a lot nicer than when people tossed up politics in otter.

Man, I can't think of a better name for it on a DVD site! "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

Thats so cool. It was insanely awesome going to the otter on Nov. 2 and not seeing anything having to do with the politics.

RFD: keeping a politics forum separate from other

Since the split and moving Election Talk to this forum, the OtterFarm has returned to what it was intended, random synaptic firing and lusting after WhoGirl's feet.

I'm proposing renaming the Election 2004 forum to Political Talk and keeping all political discussion in this forum.

Discussion?

Myster X 11-05-04 12:33 AM

I think Geoff made it clear a while back.
NO is the answer. But with four more years of Bush, who knows? :D

kvrdave 11-05-04 12:35 AM

I don't think so. Leave this open at least a month, and maybe through the inaguration, but then merge them again.

Th0r S1mpson 11-05-04 01:03 AM

Just wait until things slow down a little, then merge back into other. May take a while. Might never happen. :)

all you guys need to do is read the thread.... he is going from a NO to "i'm thinking it over"

 Politics Forum

Josh H 11-05-04 10:41 AM

Seems like a good idea to keep it as a politics forum. From the little I've skimmed the election forum, it seems pretty civil, and there always seems (from past threads and polls on the topic) to be more members who prefer having politics removed from other than those that oppose it.

Just wanted to cast my vote for the Politics Forum. It has been nice having it seperate from Other. When I feel like looking at partisan crap I go into the subforum, when I want to read interesting and funny things I stay in Other.

 Political Forum

Numanoid 11-05-04 02:45 PM

Another vote for keeping the forums separated.

VinVega 11-05-04 07:53 PM

Originally, I was pretty much against the Politcal sub-forum, but it makes it easier to sort through all the political threads when you have them all in one area. Plus all the silly otters who don't like politics can be happy splashing and playing in a cleaner pool now. I say yes to the Political Forum!

Sadly, this isn't a Democracy it's a Geoff-ocracy, so I'll just say pretty please Geoff and be on my way. :D

General Zod 11-06-04 10:31 AM

 Politics Forum

Although, we really need much more than that. Here's some suggestions:

Wacky Religious Right Forum
Wild Eyes Leftist Forum
Vast Left Wing Conspiracy Theory Forum
Vast Right Wing Conspiracy Theory Forum
Michael Moore Forum
Ann Coulter Forum
The 'Bush said another funny word' Forum
Media Bias Forum

I'll let you know if I come up with more.. ;)

Psi 11-06-04 04:20 PM

Politics forum
Anything that keeps classicman busy (somewhere else) is a good thing :)

SunMonkey 11-06-04 10:36 PM

I don't care either way, but it did seem that the Election 2004 Forum was rather well behaved over its short life. And since Election 2004 will probably be the most divisive issue for a while, I can't see too much more bickering going on to moderate in a Politics Forum.

das Monkey 11-06-04 10:49 PM

Yeah, the next season of <i>American Idol</i> doesn't start until January.

But, if we're separated by political persuasion, there won't be anyone to argue with. I mean debate

Bacon 11-08-04 01:38 AM

Political Forum

we also need a peeing in the butt/fisting forum, for those things that are too nasty for other but not mature enough for mature :D

Ah, that would be the fabled Immature Forum.

I need to deal with the "best Price" thread issues first

OldDude 11-11-04 07:24 AM

Now that the Politics forum appears permanent, how about a link to it in all the "Select Forum Area" boxes, so we can get there direct instead of having to go through Other.

Do we really need a whole forum dedicated to the subject of male on male action in adult videos?
