Star Wars Forum?
 

Just wondering what the chances are of having a Star Wars forum?

I know there's a lot of SW fans here, so thought it would be nice to have a common area on DVD Talk. :)

No Star Trek Forum? No Star Wars Forum! :)

Seriously though, it's probably going to need at least a sub-forum come September, when everyone starts talking (and griping!) about the DVD release.

I do remember that there was a LOTR forum. Yeah we'll definately need one in Sep. Maybe they could have a forum that combines SW and ST (hopefully that isn't too sinful).

Which would be tougher to moderate: A Star Wars forum or a politcs forum?

If there was a Star Wars forum, there would also have to be a Raped Childhood forum.

It was temp sub-forum. I agree that a temp SW sub-forum would be a good idea in Sept. as there will probably be a ton of threads when the DVDs come out.

However, I don't think it's a good idea to have a permanent SW forum (and I'm a pretty big SW fan). Too many flame wars, people would bitch wanting permanent forums for Star Trek, LOTR and whatever. People that want a permanent SW forum can just go to www.theforce.net or other SW sites.

I imagine time will tell if we'll need a dedicated SW forum for the DVD release, but I'd bet on it. It'll be too big/too many issues for a "one and only" thread.

If we do have a SW forum it'll be a temp one. Still mulling over the idea.

I'd say it all depends on the size of the community that needs such a forum.

When the next Star Wars movie comes out, I could see a temporary forum to discuss the movie and other things star wars (just like there have been other temporary uber-movie forums).

But I doubt there is a big enough "star wars" community here that has to discuss the subject forever here.
