Why are some threads closed?

Hi

I started a thread on another forum and it got 25 answers but got closed, why?
I read the "faq" and "info for new members " but i couldn't find the answer.

Thanks in advance

Pat

Exactly. The WS vs FS debate is one that can be found on almost every page of the hundreds of ones available on DVD Talk.

It will always get lots of responses, as DVD collectors are very emphatical about it, but pretty much all the multiple threads say the same thing.

True, some (mainly one) mod tend to be a little more "closing duplicate/merging" happy then others (and close/merge several regularly), but Geoffrey (forum owner/founder) is not one of them and his closing of your thread was completely understandable and justified in this case.

Since you are new, it is a good idea to use the search function and/or pysically browse page by pagin the DVD Talk threads before starting a topic, as these guys have been around for 5 years now, and "new" topics about general DVD format and such are exceptionally rare.

Lots of great information here, just take some time to read through it all, and you will see that many questions have already been answered several times over.

Thanks

Hi

Thanks both of you for your answers. I actually did search these boards prior to post but couldn't find any great answers for my W/S F/S question.
I am new here but not new to the internet, been browsing for 10 years.

Thanks again

This thread can now be closed ;-)
