I think the "less than" symbol makes it not show up.

<3?

Who speaks of love shining and pure, but dares to break the bond of one and another <3 is as meant, never to be split by space or body, only to be one in its meaning and purpose.

There is a part of me whcih is filled with resentment, which is why I have been posting random posts in all caps, I am not "losing it", just feeling a little down.

Please take your resentment somewhere else. Posting random nonsence in the forum is against the rules, is disruptive and unfair to other readers of the forum.

sararekuforever 02-26-04 12:37 AM

When most of the forum, except the DVD ones, shopping ones, are nonsense? The other forum is just a mixmatch of dozen page long political debates and posts about crayons and poker. The mature forum, is, pretty much, even weirder than the other forum, and the sports forum seems to be a home for just talk about the Lakers, Yankees, and Small ball..

So I wouldn't say my posts are out of place, a pity if you're so bitter that you'd complain about them Mr. Founder = )

RandyC 02-26-04 01:02 AM

Wow. There is no shining love for Other if that is all you see. Pity? Yes... you missed the love that was the crayon thread and see only nonsense because it was not about you.

sararekuforever 02-26-04 01:19 AM

No, I love the other forum, it is just the crayons and the pictures make no sense, everything else is good though. I was just saying, the essence of the forum is randomness, at least when other off topic forums are concerned...he is acting like "Other" is "Home Theatre and Audio Equipment"

Come on sararekuforever, let's all be honest here, you've posted some pretty wacked shit on the forum, and it's not playfull nor in context with what's going on around you. You've admited you do it out of frustration and I'm real clear that it doesn't have a place here.

Also your signature is really crappy. Grounds enough to be asked to leave or forum.

Wow! I didn't know there were that many poker threads. -eek-

Maybe he was in the toruney with J-Dubya and took a bad beat?

But he's got a point about the crayons. If this is going to continue, I respectfully demand a subforum so Otter isn't cluttered with all that crap.

RandyC 02-26-04 10:13 AM

You have a point...

What? "Wacked"? Just because it doesn't agree with the majority or it's not [sometimes]in a grammatical structure that's easy to understand?

As for "frustration", what I meant is that when I'm not "shining" or"loving" and just totally random and unpredictable, it's that I want to say something but it can't be said. This applies in political threads, music threads, threads where an unpopular opinion would get flamed or banned [hip hop is trash, ban gay marriage, etc]

I could care less who you are or whether you spend day or night laboring this site, but what doesn't have a place here is a moderator dissing somebody just because they don't like them. No one is cursing, or posting pictures of 7 year olds having sex with donkeys, or even linking to mp3's or doing something "illegal", someone is just being different...

No wonder kids come crying from school with bullies and whatnot all the time, it even happens on the Internet, where more than 50% of people are outcasts and freaks.

That's what I mean. These inside jokes that DVDtalk have are just as random as my posts, and to outsiders or lurkers, they make as little sense as my posts. I feel bad because I am constantly flamed for it, but one little whine about everyone else and it's instant bannage or complaints from some high up mod...

There's a serious side to me, but online I can unwind. Why I can't do it on a board which I've enjoyed for the past two years, is far beyond me.

NCMojo 02-26-04 11:39 AM

Areku --

1) If you go into any circle of friends, they will have a history and a lot of inside jokes that will make no sense as an outsider. If you hang around long enough and pay attention, after a while everything becomes clear. (You can also ask what a reference means if you want, preferably in an e-mail to long-time Otter.)

2) If you want to be treated seriously, post seriously. No more of this "shining love" crap, no more melodramatic meanderings, no more <3 <3 <3.

However... frankly we have enough "serious posters". I like the fact that your posts are kind of wacked. It makes you stand out. I say, use your own style and your own language, but stay on topic and join in the fun.

3) This is not a public forum. It is a private forum. More specifically, it is Geoff's forum. If the owner of a site recommends that you change your signature, you better damn_well do it and fast. Hell, if Geoff bans the use of the "heart" symbol, well, if you want to keep posting here, you'll stop using that symbol. Simple as that. He is the King, and he makes the rules. Intentionally antagonizing him is never, ever a good idea.

Food for thought.

Jackskeleton 02-26-04 08:34 PM

I think some folks post with a certain style. Much like it is difficult to read in to someone sarcasim off a monitor, How many of you thought Groucho was a prick the first time you read one of his response? Yet after sometime you come to realize that groucho infact post like that and it is very funny. SARARARKAURARARA is I believe the same. he has a weird style to him. I find it funny as all hell, but that's just me. by the way NCnoobjo, lurk more mr. know-it-all. :p

Sararakuakararar, the inside jokes would make sense to lurkers or others who might have seen them in topics. You realize why people say Moran instead of moron by simply keeping up with what the forum's flow is. It's all cliches that eventually get old and are replaced by new ones. Just have to let them run there course I suppose. Don't get banned now, you're a funny cat.
