[curious)what causes some threads to be archived?

is it content that's not allowed or threads that just run their course

Deftones 02-09-04 09:18 AM

usually a request to make it an archive

Groucho 02-09-04 09:19 AM

I think THIS thread should be archived. Who's with me?

shaun3000 02-09-04 09:46 AM

ARCHIVE!

DarthVong 02-09-04 10:28 AM

Aye. VERILY!

Bandoman 02-09-04 10:46 AM

Best. Thread. This morning.

AndyCapps 02-09-04 10:55 AM

Stuff that somebody wants to keep around for some reason. If it doesn't end up in the Archive, chances are it will eventually be the victim of a purge.

I think these Sports Forum threads are archive-worthy. Sometimes its fun to go back and relive championship moments. :D

I think his question though was not what caused a thread to be archived, but what caused one to be removed (see references to banned content).

If specifically you are asking about a particular thread in Other that was discussing automotive fuel, the thread starter deleted his own thread. If you delete the first post in a thread, the entire thread is deleted.

Speaking of Archived threads, I just went back and read the one of the morning of 9-11. Amazing stuff.

Just feeling a bit masochistic, I guess.

Just went back and read it myself since you mentioned it. That was surreal.

There is a new member who sounds suspiciously like him in the Covers area.
