Membership Activation = spam (according to yahoo mail!)

I signed up for these forums using my Yahoo account, and I kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the membership activation email.

Just out of curiosity, I checked the "Bulk" mail folder. Sure enough, the DVDTalk membership activation email was in there.

Might want to take some steps to correct this.

Suggest maybe:
1) contact yahoo mail people, find out why your email is treated as spam

2) put an explicit note in the signup procedure to the effect of "If you do not receive the membership activation email, please check your spam/bulk mail folder."

Yahoo has to be the worst ISP I've ever encountered -- on so many levels. It's a very fitting name.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks I've sent an email to Yahoo to let them know that we're getting caught in their filter.

We're whitelisted with them so it shouldn't be getting labeled as bulk.

Tons of legit mail gets caught in there. I've had emails from Dell as well as stuff from other internet forums put in there.

my old account from my school also threw DVD Talk e-mails to the junk box. what's funny about yahoo is that half of the e-mails that i get from another forum will end up in my inbox, and half will end up in my junk box. they don't seem to make any sense to me.

Guess again. I just changed my email to them in anticipation of closing my AT&T account. The email notification as well as thread notifications went to the bulk folder until I installed a filter.

Half my DVDTalk e-mails go to my Yahoo inbox & half go the bulk folder. It makes no sense at all! http://deephousepage.com/smilies/pullhair.gif

I just found the same thing -- along with a shipping confirmation from Amazon.

I dislike using the word, but I'm really learning to hate Yahoo.

ditto the above. But I created a filter that now deposits them all into my inbox.
