Do we really need banners with sound?

I’m talking about the latest Freddy vs. Jason banner.

Why do these things always have to have the sound turned way up?

is that what that was?
I jsut heard some weid noise and couldn't find any pop up ads on my screen or any other apparent source

I hate the internet. :(

Sorry guys, we do what we can to not have to run intrusive/annoying ads. Will be offering a paid membership w/ out ads as soon as the next version of the software is officially released

well, i don't have that problem because i leave the speakers off while surfing the net, but the freddy vs jason thing is really annoying. i can't click on anything until either the thing finishes playing or i hit the close button. i'm looking forward to the paid membership. any eta on that?

Yes. I am about to stop coming to this site during work hours (which is 99% of the time I spend here) because of the sound that randomly emits from the Jason vs. Freddy ad.

Can you not turn off your speakers? Maybe disable Flash?

The sound from the freddie banner is only on roll over, on the front page you should only get the DHTML floating ad 1x 24 hours. Also the campaign ends on the 14th

In other words, ads like this will be a continuing feature of this site in the near future.

I seem to remember popunders would only happen 1x24 hours (or something like that) not too very long ago.
