Problems Reading Threads
At home, I can't view any of the threads in any of the forums. At work, I can. And that's how I'm able to write to you.
At home, I use AOL to get to your webiste. Would that be the problem? At work, I don't use AOL and am able to view the threads.
Or am I supposed to turn something on or off in my profile?
Thank you.

I log into the internet directly from AOL. I've also tried using AOL and internet explorer in tandem. Neither worked.
Is there something I should do to "turn on" the viewing mechanism for threads? Do I have to subscribe to read a category?
Thanks.

Can you ping www.dvdtalk.com?
To do this, click on Start, then on Run. Type in the following:
command.com
then hit enter
Then type in this:
ping www.dvdtalk.com
hit enter and you should see something like this:
Pinging www.dvdtalk.com [66.7.164.225] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 66.7.164.225: bytes=32 time=140ms TTL=41

Reply from 66.7.164.225: bytes=32 time=142ms TTL=41

Ping statistics for 66.7.164.225:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 140ms, Maximum = 142ms, Average = 141ms
If you don't see that, then call AOL and complain. If you can, then call up AOL and ask them what setting you need to fix to visit online forums that use vBulletin software (link to them: http://www.qksrv.net/click-280928-1163318 )
When you say you can't read the threads...can you see the main www.DVDTalk.com page? Can you see anything on the forum pages, or you just can't get to them?

Hi...thanks for the detailed trouble shooting method. I'll give it a shot.
I can see the homepage and the release list etc...fine from my home computer.
I can even log onto the specific subsections of each forum - But When I get into them, I cant see the title of each thread. Instad I see ( )
I see the members who posted them. And why I try to click where the thread title would be, nothing happens.

Can you access the forums over at www.DVDFile.com ? They use a similar forum software.
If you can't, then I'd say you need to contact AOL.
I don't use AOL, so I can't be of much more help than that, but it does sound like a problem on your end. I can assure you that we have plenty of AOL members on this board, so I don't think it's going through AOL that's the problem. Sounds more like a problem with the software on your machine.
Good luck.
