Recommendation for a Moderator

*steping up to podium*

uhmmm...

Hi,
i've been in this forum for quite some time now

long story short, i would like to recommend: jblackland
as a moderator for DVD bargain forum

i believe he's been doing a great job providing us (memberes) with consistant information of upcoming DVD sales
not to mention, he's a very down to earth dude, & never raise any other trouble or confrontation with other members (as far as i know of)

so, umm.... yeah...

thank you

:D

Has he indicated to you that he wants to be moderator? Or does he just enjoy posting his useful thread on upcoming prices? Just wondering if he has time for the additional workload being a moderator would entail.

RandyC 11-05-03 11:30 PM

Did you mean user bayhill?

well, that's a really good point that i never consider before....

i mean, i don't know anything about recommending a member for a moderator position or even moderator's responsibility....

hey, at least i try... i figure that he's been doing such a great job (& most importantly, being consistant) so i guess he can handle being a moderator... plus he seems like a nice fellow (ya know, never cause trouble or even being rude/sarcastic to other members)

but if ya'll (moderators) think that he's not really up to it, i guess it's fine then... no biggy, no heart felling or what not

:)

& what's with the Bayhill thingy?
am i missing something? seriously, i'm kind of clueless here

thanx again :D

i guess the same question is: does this guy want to be a moderator? just because you are a valuable member of the community, doesn't mean you want to be a moderator

Movie_Man 11-06-03 11:33 AM

Let me just state this now, just in case anybody was wondering.

I do NOT want to be a moderator.

Thank you for your time.

I nominate Cranky for admin. He'd blow the place up.

LurkerDan 11-06-03 01:35 PM

I nominate Bandoman. That guy rocks! And he would never let the power get to his head.

Bandoman 11-06-03 02:19 PM

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

jrobinson 11-06-03 04:14 PM

can I nominate myself?

 Your's is probably not the best recommendation a person could ask for! ;)

--------------------------------

FYI, it's been said before, but the mods are chosen based on suggestions from existing moderators, who tend to base their suggestions on what they see of the behavior of members in terms of how level headed and even handed they seem to be in posts. Intelligent and helpful use of the Report this post feature can also play a part.

You just want to be able to close Smallball threads yourself. ;)

Blade 11-06-03 07:51 PM

I'll have you know, I would have nominated myself but I haven't even had time to cause a ruckuous, let alone moderate this place. ;)
