How do I link to a specific post within a thread?
 

I've tried numerous times, but I can't figure out the syntax. Instead of linking to a thread, I'd like to link to a specific post within that thread.

Some help please?

You can use this template...

And replace the "XXX" with the postid you see when you put your cursor over the "quote" icon as if you were going to quote the post.

:hscratch: All I see is "Reply w/Quote."

And, what's that little page icon in the upper left? http://ads.kleinman.com/images/posticon.gif It says "Old Post," but doesn't click anywhere.

That's what he's talking about -- the 'quote' icon.

It's not supposed to. It indicates if that's a post that's been made since your last visit or not.

Look in your browser's status bar.

i'm an idiot, I don't see my browser's status bar.

Go up to <u>V</u>iew and check Status Bar.

I have actually been doing this the hard way... by going to the post I want to link to, clicking on Profile, doing a search for all posts by the user, finding that post, right-clicking, selecting Properties and then copying the URL.

Whew! Probably much easier to follow X's advice.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I was doing pretty much the same thing.
