How do I edit the title of a thread I created?

How do I edit the title of a thread I created?

If I edit the first post and change the "subject" field, it only changes the tiny subject line on that first message, not the title that appears in the list of threads on the main forum page.

Thanks!

It's not something we mere mortals can do ....

Best thing, I think, is to hit the "report this post to a moderator" and ask real nice. -wink-

you can edit it for about a minute after you start the thread or something, after that a mod has to do it

Bribe Randy with a truckload of melon and he'll do anything for you.

Actually, Ted, you can also just pick up the phone and call Geoff, day or night... ;)

Just kidding. Do not call Geoff. Report the post to a moderator.

Fixed I think. If there is another one, let me know.

Is there any way to allow general users to edit the subject of threads they start?

This would be especially useful for the DVD Exchange forum. For example, I created a thread with one title in the subject, but now I have additional/other titles.

I don't think it's going to happen.

Maybe an older, wiser mod who has been in the know from the fiery birth of the site can explain the history of the rule.

I think it may have had something to do with creating a thread, having a couple of pages of replies, then completely changing the topic in order to fuck with people, but I'm not sure.. I can't really remember why exactly..
