How Do You Format Your Posts?
OK, so maybe I'm a little anal-retentive, but I always use the same formatting tags for different parts of my posts:
Bold tags for movie titles Italics for TV shows Underline for book titles And as of right now, no special formatting at all for band names. (Song titles go in quotation marks.) Sometimes, I get a bit stuck. For example, I did a post on Role Playing Games. How should I format, say, Dungeons and Dragons? It's like a book, and yet I don't want to treat it the same as War and Peace. Hmm... Does anyone else do something similar? |
I used to, but the new medication has really helped.

I'm not totally consistent on this; for instance, I try to put movie titles in bold, yet sometimes I'm too lazy. But here's my technique:
Finally, I promised myself a few weeks ago I'd never employ Originally posted by User again. So when I quote someone, I rewrite that part to say something like After careful consideration, User has arrived at the following conclusion: or User is a member of the faction which maintains.... |

I only use Italics for Movie titles. I rarely use bold and underline format.

I would personally use italics for television shows and albums as well.
Quotes are reserved for pieces that can be reproduced with others in a single volume. (e.g. song titles, episode titles, short stories, poems, articles, etc.) :) |
