Problem with Placing Table in Message
I am attempting to put up a posting that includes a table; however, there is a very large space between the text and the beginning of the table. I have checked other messages with tables and can't see where any of my vB tags (or, for me, html tags) are out of wack with a message that works.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance. The message is copied below so you can see the text: --------------------------------- Below is a list of movies that were released in theaters before 1980 that have upcoming releases on DVD. I'll be updating the list on a fairly frequent basis and would appreciate information on any titles that are missing. Please note, the current list only covers releases through May 6. vBulletin automatically replaces line breaks ("\n") with HTML line breaks. If you write something like:
<tr> <td> some text... </td> that amounts to four <br>s that it adds in. However, since the <br>s aren't bounded in a table, Internet Explorer (and perhaps other web browsers) bump the line breaks all before the table, pushing it down very far on the page. If you remove the line breaks and put the table's contents on a single line, you won't have any errors. Another solution would be to use a monospaced font and HTML spaces and do something like: <font face="Courier"> 5/6/03 Zebra In The Kitchen 1965  ; Warner 5/6/03 Law and Order &nb sp; 1953 Universal </font> but that might not be as appealing. :) |

copy the source code and paste into microsoft word.. edit.. select all edit.. replace.. (more - special - paragraph marks) and leave replace with empty.. then hit replace this will remove all paragraph marks in your code.. from here, you can just copy the source and paste into your message. |
That did it! Thanks to all for the help...now I can concentrate on keeping the list up-to-date instead of goofing with code.
