Why Was My Thread Closed When Others Are Not?

?

AndyCapps provided a pretty unambiguous explanation in the thread in question that should answer your question.

I believe the standard procedure for these sorts of gripes is to contact the moderator directly instead of immediately complaining in Forum Feedback.

Maybe you should e-mail a moderator privately instead of posting more lockfodder?

The appropriate thing for you to do is to concern yourself with your business and not others.

Which threads? I closed all of the ones that copied the text of your thread.

There's no reason to devote a thread to calling people out who have certain beliefs. Then to say this:

There's only one catch. You must promise never never again to bore the forum in other threads about your beliefs or non-beliefs, however you wish to characterize them, on this subject

The different viewpoints represented by the members of this forum is what makes many of the discussions not boring.

If you're talking about some other thread I may have missed... unfortunately we can't constantly read through every single post made in the various forums. I wish I could without becoming totally burned out, losing my job from never getting anything done, and having my family leave me because I can't pull myself away from the computer. So, sometimes we have to rely on the "Report this post to a moderator" link. I came upon your thread myself, and later saw that I had three complaints about it waiting in my mailbox. If there is some other thread we should take a look at, we haven't received any reports about it...

Posting a new discussion thread = inviting other people to comment

If you are refering to the thread mentioned in this comment:

The thread about exposing atheists has been going a hell of a lot longer than 5 minutes. I suppose you don't believe that's a not-so-subtle insult at Christians? Please!!
then I think the obvious answer is that the only one who sees the "insult" is you.

Is the right place to mention that I'm proud to be an agnostic?

No. :)

Exactly right. Just one more reason email can be a better place for these things to be handled.

Asked and answered, so closing. If you have any more questions, complaints or disagreements, please continue them via email to the moderator in question.
