Computer & DVD-ROM Forum suggestion

This may have been addressed, but I was thinking that there are always a lot of threads about "what (Insert hardware) should I buy" or "Help! I'm building a PC".

I think it would be helpful to have a sticky at the top of the forum with links to a few sites that do reviews and pricewatch, so that a thread is not created for a question that could be answered with a quick look at one of these places. Then if a member has more specific questions, a new thread would work. Sometimes I think some of these threads get no replies because these questions get asked too often and no searching is done.

Just my .02

a listing of sites isnt a bad idea
but normally, when people post in there, its because they are looking for our opinions
and since our opinions change weekly, as new technology comes out.. its pretty difficult to keep a solid answer up top

I do agree since our answers do change with time and even deals however I do think that the shopping links should be forum specific and include as many links of a computer interest as possible.

Dell
crucial
staples
amazon
buy.com
bestbuy

this way the few sites that Geoff has that directly relate to computer purchases are listed on the very top of the forum.
I do think this would increase click thrus.

I dont understand why members suggest trimming up the forums that get little activity in the first place. Its not like any thread isnt getting a good share of 1st page time in the computer forum. I said the same thing about the stickys in the videogame forum too, BTW.

If its not broke dont fix it.
