Deleted off-topic comments

The moderators on this board (who shall remain nameless) **cough**static **cough** have turned into the thought expression police. It's gotten to issuing parking tickets for parking 30 minutes in a 20 minute zone. I just had a sentence (that was off topic) within a post that was directly on-topic removed from my post. Get a life and give me a break (not necessarily in that order). :grunt:

actually whole posts are being deleted.

I saw two in one of my threads-one mine and one another members. the sad thing is that it did not help bandwidth since i reloaded the page once to make sure i was not seeing a cached page.

I have never been for the deletion of posts/ threads dating to the first pad discusions in feedback.

I still do not like this type of response. frankly I would rather see threads locked than the editing of posts or deleting of posts.

However if this is what Geoff wants I guess I have no choice but to accept it :(

still makes me to sad to see this happening :(

thgord,

What he edited out was an unnecessary, unprovoked hostile comment from you to him. He edited it out rather than ask that any action be taken against you. But since you seem intent on continuing to baselessly accuse him of abusing his moderating powers, I'm stepping in and putting an end to this.

You're posting privileges have been suspended for one week.

If you have a problem with any of the moderators, email an administrator. This is not the way to handle it, and insulting our moderators on the forums is a good way to lose your posting privileges. (And note, I did say "insult," not criticize. We do recognize the difference and, in fact, welcome the latter.)

gcribbs,

We remove comments when leaving them will likely lead to people responding to them. Off topic comments or personal attacks, generate responses that are not going to be conducive to useful discussion. We think that most of the members would like to be able to continue an existing coversation, rather than having to start all over again.

If there are any further questions about this, please email me or any of the other administrators (Randyc, X).

Closing thread.
