DIY Spellcheck!!

Here's a great resource I read about in LockerGnome:

http://www.iespell.com/

Add spell check to IE!!!

Thanks, that looks pretty cool.

Edited to add: It seems to crash IE6 in WinXP every time.

shaun3000 05-03-02 03:38 PM

I wonder what my problem is then. Maybe it's conflicting with my google toolbar.

Edit: Now it's working! It's pretty sweet. :D I wonder why it wasn't working before.

I'm running XP Pro and IE6, and having interemittent problems with it. It will crash about 1 out of 3 times. I don't suppose anybody noted that this is a 0.9 Beta release? ;)

I guess this is my situation as well, but mine seems to be crashing more often than not. I did notice that it was a beta release, but some betas are very stable. I'll toy around with it some more and see what I can do.

I saw it in Lockergnome earlier and installed it. Crashed 2 out of 3 times. Uninstalled it. I have pretty good spelling anyways. :)

P.S. - Running IE6 & Win2k

Stangman68 05-04-02 04:11 AM

No offense, Geoff, but so far I'm not too impressed. I just typed out a nice long post, hit the spell check, and IE shut down.

FYI, I'm running Windows ME and IE 6.0 on a 1 GHz machine with 768MB of RAM.

shaun3000 05-04-02 03:31 PM

Yeah, I got some crashes, too

But, as many have pointed out, it is still in beta. And it is free. Geoff was just doing a favor buy point it in our direction.

thanks Geoff. ;)

Bump.

They have released version 1.0. It is much stabler than the betas, which crashed IE 50% of the time. This one works flawlessly.
