20 posts per page now?

when did it change from 40 to 20?

You can define your preferred posts per page in the 'User Options' tool in the Control Panel. If you want 40 posts per page, you can have 40.

In this Other thread:

Geoff is trying to reduce bandwidth and one way that was mentioned was to reduce the number of posts per page that are displayed.

But it's not going to do much good if everybody changes it back.

I think the default is now 25, not 20.

True. I think that was my point, but you might have made it clearer. :)

Going to 40 posts per page means the terrorists win.

I've been doing 20 for a long time now. I like it because it's fast. Navigating pages to continue the thread is no big deal and I hate waiting as long as it takes 40 to come up. And it's much more efficient when you are just keeping track of new posts in a long thread.

LBPound 04-26-02 10:29 PM

25 per page is sort of better, and very often a 40-post page of a thread will load and I won't be interested in it after just a few posts. So this should save bandwidth, and I'll leave it with the default setting.

Loads a bit quicker too I'd imagine. :)

I feel guilty now for refreshing the forum. Jeez....I don't want Geoff to go into the poorhouse for our little pleasure.

edit: this is not meant as a sarcastic post. I truly do not want Geoff to have to make a tough decision simply because we have a good time here.

I wouldn't mind it so much if the forum didn't log me out every time I visit another vB bullitin board. But different lengths at different times is annoying!!!

I don't don't logged out when I visit other vB bulletin boards.

RandyC 04-27-02 11:08 AM

I have 4-5 VB boards open at any time, and I never get logged out. As far as different lengths, it does not bother me. One board uses 10, I have my boards set to 15.
