Geoff, when you turned off 'image inbedding' it messed up alot of archived threads...

Any way a mod can go in there, and change all the <B>[img]</B> tags to <B>[img scr http://.........</B> tags?

I noticed alot of the otter meet picture threads got nuked when you changed this.

Or, just make me a mod, and I'll take care of it (among other things). Mwahahahahaha!

Thanks,

Unfortunately, being a regular mod wouldn't help much here. Mods can only make updates to the forums they are assigned. To make chages to stuff in the archived area, you'll need an admin.

Sorry, I checked this when you first posted it, but didn't see anything really obvious. Geoff's just recently returned from the Lord of The Rings event in LA, so hopefully, he'll be able to address this soon.

I'll send him an email to remind him, but you know how long it takes to get caught up after you've been out of the office for a few days....so give him a few days to get around to it.

Thanks.

Two simple queries. If I were cool, I'd use regex to do it in one, but...I'm not... :)

Code:

UPDATE post SET pagetext=REPLACE(pagetext, '[img]', '&lt;img src="') WHERE forumid=27;
UPDATE post SET pagetext=REPLACE(pagetext, '[/img]', '">') WHERE forumid=27;

If Geoff or someone else with th' appropriate access wants to run them, that should take care of it.

Must have happened with an update to the forum software as I didn't specifically turn it off...

Seems to be working now...

Was this one of the threads you were talking about?

If so, it is still all messed up. :D

Yea, that's one of the threads I've noticed... all those links are good (just checked them)...

Not sure why they all died.

All I know is that I've strated using the [img src for all new posts to make them work.

Yeah, it's because of the asterisks.

GeoffK 03-30-02 02:36 PM

Yep that seems to be the problem....

The asterix are messing up the links...

That's strange, it's usually Obélix that causes the trouble.

Looks like Miss Cleo doesn't have to worry about competition from Mr. Soze.

We have the <i>problem</i> outlined above, together with a suggested <i>solution</i>.

(Someone has also posted the <i>cause</i>).

Does anyone with the relevant permissions have the time to do the necessary?

I don't think we have access to this, or I just can't figure it out :). I think Geoff has to handle this one.

I think Keyser has too much free time on his hands
