Adding outside links rule
Hum, I've noticed a few stray comments in threads where someone says they got in trouble for adding an external link in a post to another website. It wasnt clear in the postings if this was a policy of there was some specific reason for that particular link.
I tried to find a policy in the FAQs, but its not hitting me over the head. I frequently add links to the IMDB when I discuss a particular film. Is this frowned upon? No one has told me not to do it but wanted to clarify before I continue. Thanks |
Basically, posting affiliate links is forbidden as well as links to your own eBay auction.

I'll assume IMDB is ok then, Im not affiliated with them.
Thanks Just think it helps when discussing a movie |
Yeah, IMDb is okay and an awesome site to boot! :)

Yeah, i'm there all the time. I figured this was the case anyway, but the few posts where someone referenced "bad" links, well, they didnt elaborate.
Anyway, im off to bed, I have to stop these 4am surfing sprees. |

Anyway, im off to bed, I have to stop these 4am surfing sprees. Inside the Other forum, in addition to the above, there are few websites deemed not suitable for our community because of content. This usually comes up because one of these sites hosts a funny pic, someone wants to share it and posts a link in Other. -David |
