Censor question.

It looks like *** is now a censored word.

What about goddamn?

Personally, I do not find a s s offensive (and I am as prudish as they come on the forums), but the other sure is.

not to mention there are so called tricks around the censor. I agree though that the gdamn word ought to be censored if *** is.

What is wrong with donkeys?

Personally, I don't find "goddamn" offensive: cursing will always be with us.... I believe that "bloody" derives from "By Our Lady".

[Edit: the "bloody" etymology is suspect but I like it anyway!]

Many don't find it offfensive, but I am using the Network Censor logic. *** has been fine and dandy on primetime for some years, I don't believe gdamn has been.

Plus, I would bet that there are many on the religious side that have a bigger problem with gdamn than with many other words. Personally, I find it much more offensive than the F-bomb, but that's just me.

I don't believe ass is offensive either in most of it's uses. However, when it's used in thread titles, it can be offensive.

The use of goddamn is another issue and has no bearing on the use of ass, IMO. However, it's a valid issue on it's own.

So, then what is the verdict, O' Master of the Melon?

Yup. But, if members are caught doing this, they may just find themselves in trouble too. So, I wouldn't recommend it.

Well, then why not make a thread about NOT using the word in title threads (although it probably has been done before). It is really one of the least offending words, plus it has an innocent meaning to it. If words like
Spoiler:
dick, prick, bitch, and cock
are allowed, then why not A double S? Those words can be innocent, but they can also have a dirty connotation to them.

Yes, I see he did. I'll be calling his local produce market shortly so that an appropriate punishment can be imposed.

Bad Randy!
