I dont mind on the front page but in the threads it is odd on the side. If you want to add them, how about a second layer at the top. This was eveyone will see them but they wont crunch up the forum.

Just messing around. Had an idea of adding that bar to the left, but didn't like how it looked.

We are actively looking at kicking up the ad revenue a notch on DVD Talk, the .com slow down has had an effect and so we are looking at ways we can bost things.

know that I HATE with a passion pop-up ads, so you WILL NOT see pop-ups on DVD Talk (except for that 1 time newsletter thing which should only pop up once... and in this era of pop-pop-pop-pop-ups I'm even reconsidering that!)
