Hi, new member here!

Does anyone know if there are plans on a special edition of Bram Stoker's Dracula? The standard edition is now marked down to 9.99 so I'm speculating a re-release soon.

Also, I know it's kind of soon but does anyone know if there are plans for a SE of "Hero?" A great movie but the video transfer of the current release is awful. The visuals are entirely too gorgeous not to warrant a solid HD transfer.

This topic is a great source for upcoming new versions.

Is anybody aware of a list out there of movies that have already been re-released? I think it's about time that I go through my collection and get a list of movies that I may want to double dip on.

there's some updated or brand-new news posted out there of upcoming new editions of Airplane!, Outsiders, Rumblefish, Truman Show, Coal Miner's Daughter, Titanic, To Kill A Mockingbird, Tommy Boy, and The Warriors. So avoid doubledippin those.

Mikko--

You may want to update your list since the titles listed below have all been released. Just an FYI.

Big Red One, The (2005?, SE, 2D)
DVD Release Date: May 3, 2005

Getaway [Peckinpah] (2006?, SE, 2D, COM [Redman, Seydor, Simmons, Weddle])
DVD Release Date: May 31, 2005 (Deluxe Edition)
Will there be another release? Doubtful until HD-DVD.

Graduate, The (2005, SE)
DVD Release Date: April 5, 2005
Since this was basically a re-release, maybe a special edition is in the works but I doubt it.

Pocahontas [Animated] (2005, SE, COM)
DVD Release Date: May 3, 2005 as a 10 Year Anniversary Edition
Probably won’t see again until HD-DVD.

Rebel Without A Cause (SE, 2005)
DVD Release Date: May 31, 2005

Dracula may see a spec edition soon...

I'm pretty positive that a SE of Bram Stoker's Dracula will be released some time in '06. I have the Criterion laserdisc and it is loaded with featurettes on the costumes, effects, and the like. It also has Coppola commentary.

However, Dracula could receive the same fate as the Criterion Laserdiscs of The Game, The Fisher King, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, and others. In that Criterion's lease has run out on those titles and have no immediate plans to release them. They may also own the rights to all of the features on those discs as well. But who knows.

Has there been any more news on Crimson Tide? I've been wanting to replace my old one since it got stolen a few years ago, but the picture was pretty crappy, so I've been waiting for the re-release, which seems like it will never happen... Other regions have already gottan a remastered one, right? What the heck is going on?

Yes, it is definitely in the final stages of productions. An official announcement about the release should come soon.

I'm not sure if this is a re-release, but does anyone know if there are plans to release the original b&w version of King Kong?? All I can find is the crappy 79 version with Jeff Bridges!
