Are there any news on Atom Egoyan's movies like Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter and The Adjuster?

I love these movies, but the versions available now aren't very good, so I'm hoping for SE, or even better, Criterion.

What's wrong with the New Line Platinum release of The Sweet Hereafter? I don't have it, but it seems to have a good list of extras, and the audio/video are rated highly by widescreen review. Usually New Line's Platinums are as good or better than anyone elses SE's.

I watched this DVD about 2 weeks ago. The transfer was excellent for 1998, but it looks pretty average today.

Lion King 2, 2-Disc SE, August 31.

I see all the Bond films except "Die Another Day" on the list to be re-released next year - so I assume that the others will be in a 2-disc format similar to the current Die another Day?

The first box set was already released, and they are not 2-Disc sets.

The first post still has ALL the Bond films listed for re-release in 10/--/2005 (except "Die another Day").

DTS-ES - heh heh - that makes even a clunker like "The Haunting" worth watching, on a good movie it is like a nice thick layer of icing.

I've been planning to buy "My So Called Life", but I don't think the current DVD set look very good.

Any plans of a re-release, or should I just go with the version available?

Has anybody heard about Kenneth Branagh's "Hamlet" from 1996? If/when it might be coming out on DVD?

Best to ask in the Unreleased DVD List thread as this one is for re-releases but I haven't heard anything about it yet.

Otherwise I'll be forced to (gasp) re-purchase the vhs just so I can watch it without the extra "hooker" stuff.

I hate Garry Marshall. I hate Julia Roberts. I hate Richard Gere (shakes fist at the buddist) however if they've included more hooker content in the DVD version I'll have to pick it up.

Even when there's no interest in the content one must support progressive moves such as this.

wz42 10-06-04 05:27 PM

btw - what's up with Ghostbusters in the chart above? Is this just a re-release of the old SE or are they pulling off special features of the Criterion LD?

ruk 10-11-04 08:40 PM

when is 21 grams SE coming out, will there be a risky business SE, thanks for the assistance

Spiky 10-13-04 02:32 PM

Is that notation of The Sting still valid on this list? It's been up there in bold type for 3 years or something.
