I managed to watch all 30 episodes of The Time Tunnel this year. I didn't make it to the bonus features on the BR set - a couple of movies, half-baked pilot for a relaunch, or interviews/etc. but the episodes were enough. My wife even joined me for a few - quite a surprise as she doesn't like SF at al - and seemed to enjoy them for what they are. She even seemed to enjoy the few bits of trivia I told her about the series. I really like how the last episode's cliff-hanger is for episode 1 making the entire series a huge "Grounhog Day" kind of loop.

Trevor, sorry you're not able to enjoy the challenge this year but I appreciate that you were able to get the ball rolling. I didn't realize this was a leap year either until I saw the posts for this challenge.
Thanks omike! I closed the Challenge out by watching this last night, and quite enjoyed it.

This was a fun challenge anyway Trevor. Thanks for running it. Only got a few viewings in, but at least I got Wild West Rangers from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in. One of my main goals.

Just had fun going thru all four of these Challenge threads. Nice to see so many of us still here these dozen years later, but sad to see the missing members and the overall much decreased traffic on the forum. I occasionally get distracted by other things and donít check dvdtalk for a week or even couple months once or twice, but overall Iím here almost daily for 25 years now, and you all are like family.

I bought the DVD sets probably due to your posts about the series over the years, but based on my posts here, looks like I havenít even opened them yet! Next time, Iíll make sure Iím off work and marathon them.

Why wait 4 more years? Watch them during this year's SF/Fantasy challenge...

I think Iím done for now. I at least got an even 5 this afternoon with ĎGI Joe And The Golden Fleeceí , in which mid battle, GI Joe and Cobra forces got sent back to Ancient Greece. The Greeks thought Lifeline was Aescalapius (sp), Sgt Slaughter was Heracles, and Cobra forces in their CLAWs were Harpies.

I would think you could make the argument for the current challenge as well. I always considered it an adventure show.

My meager list for posterity, forget the exact order/dates, except for my Quadruple credit items were finished on the 29th.

Somewhere in Time (1980)
The Time Machine (1960)
The Sword in the Stone (1963)
Hot Tub Time Machine (2010)
The Muppet Christmas Carol (1993)
The Tomorrow War (2021)

Re: DVDTalk's Fourth Quadrennial Leap Day Challenge, 2/27/2024 to 3/2/2024

I'd hoped to do more on my first Leap Day Challenge, but life had other plans. Anyways, I did get to a few things:

Modern Family "Leap Day"
Frasier "Look Before You Leap"
The X-Files "Monday"
Futurama "The Why of Fry"
The X-Files "Triangle"
The X-Files "Synchrony"

The first episode of Kim's Convenience was listed (somwhere) as Leap Year-themed, but that didn't sound right. Sure enough, it was just a single reference to Leap Day. Oh well. It had been forever since I watched X-Files, and was reminded how fun that show was (for a while, at least). A rewatch may be in order.

Thanks, Trevor, for running this...see y'all in four!
