Thanks. I checked, and it had actually been a couple of years since I watched them. I'd still prefer to watch something completely new to me if I can, but there aren't many of those on the lists. We'll see.

Which ones haven't you seen?

Thanks for asking, but please don't worry about it. I don't want to make things more complicated. I'm okay with watching whatever comes up.

Wow! Thank you everyone (and any still to come) for buying into this again! I thought because there's only one giveaway pack and the fact that most of these movies are bad, there'd be way less participation, but not so. And we still have 8 more days to sign up*

*Late entrants are always accepted!

It's all about the journey... the destination, not so much... :D

I never need any extra incentive to watch one of my favorite genres anyway.

I have added Crom Crauch's Zhongyuan Mystery Box. If you don't want to watch your film for any reason, you can punch into the Box and I will give you a new movie. It will be a movie on a free streaming service that's either connected to either Irish or Chinese culture.

Crom Crauch is an ancient Celtic deity said to be analogous to the devil (it's debated if this is post-Christian revisionism, however) and demand human sacrifice. With the gates of Hell open on Samhain, you might run into him. Better wear a disguise!

Zhongyuan is the traditional Chinese ghost month/festival. It begins today! Similar to Samhain, this is a festival that also concerns itself with the opening of the gates of the afterlife. It's observed by recognizing ancestors and making offerings to them. BUT, you also have to watch out for wayward spirits.

I now have close ties to both the Celtic lands and Taiwan, so I always think it's neat how close these are, both in terms of ideas and timing on the calendar.

Titles are up! "Contest" starts tomorrow and will run until Friday the 13th of October.

Once again:
  • Let me know if you have any questions
  • You can dip into Crom Crauch's Zhongyuan Mystery Box to exhange your movie
  • Post your thoughts on what you watched
  • Have fun!

WTG IBJoel. You rock. And personally, I think I lucked out with Suspiria. I love foreign horror.

I totally missed this entire thread! If it's not too late, I'd like to play. If it's too late, no worries!
Is there a link for Crom Crauch's Zhongyuan Mystery Box?

Of course! We always welcome latecomers. There's no link for the mystery box, since it's something I just made up haha. If you don't like your movie, then I'll just give you one from that theme. I'll add you and post your roulette movie right now.

Hmmm, Death Spa. At first I thought I had watched it within the past couple of years, but turns out I was thinking of Killer Workout (Aerobicide). I don't remember when I last watched Death Spa, so now seems like as good a time as any to re-watch it.

I'm actually very much so in for watching the Mystery Box movies.

Oh wait, I thought they were actually real movies....

Nice! The Devil's Doorway, not bad. Thank you again for the prechallenge event.

Is my movie the 1986 heavy metal demon movie, or the 2008 anthology? I have them both so watching is not a problem.

I may be mistaken, but given Or suggests the 1986 movie as opposed to R for the anthology. And side note, Ozzy as a preacher deriding metal as devil music was a hoot.

I think I did a poor job of explaining the box

Essentially, it just functions as a secondary re-roll if you don't want to watch your original movie (sucks too hard, watched it recently already, going to watch it for the 19th Horror Challenge, et cetera).

You don't know the list of movies before like you do for the main roulette. Each one will be linked to Irish or Taiwanese culture. So it could be inspired by or made in those countries.
