Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 18th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

Holy shit! After years of searching, I finally found the Halloween movie I was looking for.
The Halloween That Almost Wasn’t.
I saw this when I was a kid and it faded into my memory. A whole bunch of years ago I was trying to remember what it was called.
I was convinced it was Joe Flaherty so I eventually settled on my brain combining Maniac Mansion and the SCTV skits ala the Mengele Effect.
I just stumbled upon it while reading a review of sorts of the Munsters movie.
I can’t believe how much of this I remember. This is awesome.
Thanks Rob Zombie for making a (presumably) horrible adaptation!

For those who want to check out the new Halloween (which comes out 10/14). Peacock is doing a special. A month for $1.99. Might be worth it to check out and drop after the challenge if you want. https://tvline.com/2022/09/28/how-to...ore-1234881380

I bought the Rifftrax a few years ago, but under the title The Night That Dracula Saved the World. It's very much of it's time.

Probably trying to get rid of all of their Blu-ray stock to make room for all those inevitable 4K UHD releases.

I don't have Netflix, but had access to it this evening. I watched a few episodes of the series The Movies That Made Us (the ones about Halloween & Friday the 13th) to really get me in the mood for things to kick off. Odds are good many of you have seen these. If not, I'd recommend you check them out.

Yea, I'm tempted for a few of those, but I don't want to buy and then have a UHD announcement after awhile. I'll be patient...

Yeah, I’m trying to gauge what movies I don’t absolutely NEED to buy on UHD and order some of those.

Post Mortem with Mick Garris is just about my favorite podcast. He’s a great interviewer.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 18th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

Hey everyone! Don't know if anyone one remembers me, but I was participated from 2013-2018. Had to take a mental health break during my divorce, subsequent death of my ex and all the stuff that comes with that. Newly married to a horror virgin. I've taken him to 2 horror conventions (which he loved) and Halloween Horror Nights 2 weeks ago (which was a disaster for everyone involved - it's gone so money grubbing downhill since my last visit in 2016). I'm going to attempt to at least watch 50 movies this year - a far cry from my peak of 164 that first year. I went to grad school to become a mental health therapist, so taking classes in addition to raising 4 kids, movie time is limited.

Anyway, hi! Excited to come back and participate!

Tonight's the night. Off all weekend and am not leaving my apartment for anything. Food and drinks in storage. Ready for 6:58 pm to get here so I can binge on scary movies for 2 1/2 days straight before I have to go back to work.

WOW. I didn't realize that we could start tonight. A nice gift that I wasn't expecting. Might get in too tonight. If the power doesn't go out. Hurricane

It starts at dusk tonight, whatever that time is in your area.

You guys have been waiting to start?

Oh also! I cracked open my Friday the 13th Blu-ray case and saw there were digital codes. I went to Paramount Movies and apparently you can only get your digital copy to your Apple TV account! So I will be adding those to my giveaway, for anyone who has Apple TV.

Do you all think I should do them as all one big prize pack, by "sheet" (there's 2 codes each sheet), or individually? There's a total of 8 movies (the original 1980-Jason Takes Manhattan). So one winner of all of them, 4 winners of 2 each, or 8 winners of one movie each?

Is there any consensus on the best edition of Halloween? I have the previous UHD. Do you feel the Scream Factory edition is any better? I know the home presentation of the original Halloween has been very divisive.

Welcome back PCBreakdown; curiously I am a mental health counselor - it's an interesting field that has served me well, best wishes in your work.

There is a good chance you can redeem the digital copies (at least in Vudu) here:
https://www.vudu.com/content/redeem.html

Paramount should not be a studio that only redeems on Apple.

If you do persist with a giveaway it might seem best the films all stay together.

You can also do them on Vudu yeah, but I wasn't really sure if that was a popular platform. If I can't just keep my movies in Prime or YouTube, I'm OK giving them away.
