In case you missed it: To win one of the IB prize packs this year, you must watch a randomly assigned horror movie during the month of September and let me know when you've done so. Once this is completed, you will be entered to win and I'll send out the prizes mid-October.

P.S. I have already assigned films for those listed and 5 of you are "taking the bullet"
I'm in for a random watch.

I know this won't count for the Horror Challenge, but I want to add it to my list just for fun. I hope that's OK.
You actually have one of my "weird favorites", but if you want something TERRIBLE to watch, here are 3 of my lowest-rated horror films on Letterboxed:
Zombie Town (of which I remember absolutely zero)
Deep Blood (truly, maddeningly boring)
The Zero Boys (which does have a redeeming cult actress and death scene)

I actually like The Zero Boys-Kelli Maroney is one of my Twitter pals-haven't seen the other two. I'm ready for whatever. Weird favorite sounds intriguing.

Didn't we do Zero Boys as a theme a few years back?

I have copies of all three of those, so I'll probably go ahead and watch them along with whatever movie you "assign" me. Thanks for the suggestions (or warnings)!

EDIT: Well, it looks like I've seen Deep Blood and The Zero Boys. Looking up both films, only The Zero Boys sounds familiar.

Curse you all - now I've got Deep Blood (streams free w/ ads on Vudu), Zero Boys (Arrow Channel), and Zombie Town (on Roku TV) in que.
Preparing to be miserably disappointed (but I don't remember Zero Boys being that bad).

[As well as my assigned Dracula 1992 film; which is not a bad pick - thank you]

Well, I would've preferred something I hadn't seen before, but I don't think I've watched 28 Days Later since back in '03 (when I bought the DVD), so it was about time for a revisit. Now I just have to dig out the DVD.

Ah sorry. I published the shortlist a while back, but don't blame you for missing it. To be fair, I think I'd have a hard time finding something that people who participate in the Horror Challenge HAVEN'T seen.

My issue with Zero Boys was mostly that it doesn't do anything super interesting and isn't over-the-top enough to enjoy for me personally. It also just doesn't have a certain "vibe" to it like a lot of other slashers. I even like Killer Workout, Chopping Mall, and the _____ Party Massacre movies, because they at least capture (an exaggerated) 80s feeling.

Ah wonderful! I must have forgotten that when I looked it up a few days ago to add to my own watchlist. My fiancee is Taiwanese, so I've been wanting to do some more of that country's cinema this year (originally it was going to be The Sadness, but it was added to the official Horror Challenge)

Awesome, looking forward to watching In the Mouth of Madness -- was actually just thinking recently that I need to revisit that one. Thanks for putting this together, IBJoel!!

No problem. At least 28 Days Later is one I haven't seen within the last five years or so (unlike Deep Blood and The Zero Boys), so I'll be happy to watch it again.

I especially like Mon Mon Mon Monsters; it was one of my favorite movies the year I watched it.

Edit - Found my mini-review for it:
Spoiler:
Mon Mon Mon Monsters (2017, 113 minutes) ★★★★★★★Ĺ✰✰ Mean spirited high school kids find and capture one monster but still have to put up with each other in a better than I expected supernatural gang war with high schoolers and vampires. Gore, comedy, and awkward social situations abound.

Halloween III is one of my favorite horror films and I own the SF Blu, so watching it will be a breeze. Thanks, IBJoel!

You and I love it, but so many people yell "But, muh Michael Myers!" It was cool last year when people were knocking AMC or Syfy (don't remember which) on Twitter for not including it in their Halloween marathons.

I got Halloween III also and I love it as well! It always puts me in the mood for Halloween, so this will be a great September watch. And I bought the UHD last year!

Add me to the people who also love Halloween III. Sure there was no Michael Myers, but that didnít stop it from being a great movie.

I wish John Carpenter and Debra Hill could've stuck with their plan of making every Halloween movie after Part II it's own separate story. I love the idea of a Halloween anthology series of movies, but the box office numbers for Halloween III killed any chance of that happening unfortunately.

If Carpenter and Hill had just called it Season of the Witch, it would be acknowledged as a horror classic.

I'd be very stoked if, after Halloween Ends, they switch to a "Halloween Presents" or "John Carpenter Presents" branding to re-visit the anthology format. Hell, I'd even think it'd be cool if someone made a Season of the Witch-style take on the Asian Ghost Festival, which has a lot of similarities to Samhain.
