I watched Slumber Party Massacre II the other night and while it's not as good as the first one, I thought it was entertaining enough. I had that stupid musical number stuck in my head all day yesterday, though.

Never gotten around to seeing it, but the How Did This Get Made podcast episode of it was hilarious. https://www.earwolf.com/episode/howl...werewolf-live/

I''m using a wildcard on Dune tonight. Excited!

ET:A: I loved Dune. 5/5 stars. Just wish I could sit down and watch part 2. I wonder how long we'll have to wait. <sigh>

I had a good time watching a Silent Night Deadly Night/Silent Night Deadly Night 2 double feature with my son tonight. He saw on IMDB's trivia section that Eric Freeman (Ricky in SNDN2) moves his eyebrows 130 times throughout the movie. It definitely made a bad movie entertaining. Tomorrow evening, I'm gonna try to shoot for 3,4,& 5. Hopefully the dvd I bought of them years ago still plays.

I was on track to beat my previous best, but as I knew, this week life would interfere and my pace has slowed. I will still make it to 100, and will be happy with that, for sure.

I'm also grateful to all who recommended The Wolf of Snow Hollow, which I thought was a great discovery. Knowing it was Robert Forster's last film gave it extra resonance.

The Collector, on the other hand...boy, I don't know...

The mid-week reminder.

The term folk horror was used in 1970 in the film magazine Kine Weekly by reviewer Rod Cooper describing the filming of The Devil's Touch - a film that would later be re-named The Blood on Satan's Claw, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Typical elements include a rural setting and themes of isolation, religion, the power of nature, and the potential darkness of rural landscapes.

Arguably, the first folk horror film was Häxan, the 1922 silent film that features graphic scenes straight from medieval woodcuts depicting witches in flagrante delicto with good ol' Satan. In recent years there's been a revival, most notably with A24 films such as The Witch and Midsommar. This year the resurgence continues with Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched, a documentary from House of Psychotic Women author Kier-La Janisse. In addition to limited theatrical exhibitions, it will also be included in the upcoming 19-film Severin box set All the Haunts Be Ours: A Compendium of Folk Horror.

Name 3 of your favorite folk horror films.

Did anyone else notice that The Collector didn't fit today's theme? It had neither a hooded figure nor a cloaked figure, as far as I could tell.

Not that it's an actual problem...it's just an observation.

I think the protagonist of this awful film was wearing a hoodie.

Makes sense. I easily could have missed that.

Getting another Last Drive In Special next week with a twist. They're doing the original first two episodes of The Walking Dead with guest Greg Nicotero.

Having a rough time this year. Can only do a couple of old Universal horror's during the week. Not a lot of time for movies this year. I can make up some time on the weekends. That could give me a one a day average. But can't do a whole lot more than that this year.

Ive watched this one a couple of times now. The opening pre-title sequence is really a strong set up. The rest of the film is very interesting. I kind of gave up trying to understand it all, lol.

Happy sincerest of pumpkin patches to those who observe!

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, the original wildcard, will be shown Sunday night on PBS, 7:30 EST (at least in my town).
