It was pretty humorous to see the reveal, I laughed out loud. I'm not sure how it would play if you knew it was coming.

That's a great list! I see a MYOC theme for May staring us right in the face!

Yes, just for how funny the mayhem gets at the end. Going in knowing how ridiculous it is I think you will have a good time.

I firmly believe this is James Wan spoofing the genere.

A little over an hour until sundown for me. Probably going to get Road Games out of the way first and then wing it from there.

I've got an hour and 35 minutes. Plan on watching What If? while waiting and I will probably start with Road Games also.

I am starting off with the granddaddy of horror. The film that jump started it all ... Frankenstein 1931

It's officially sunset in my state. Popcorn made, drink on the side, and Road Games pulled up and ready to go... It has begun.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 17th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

Just getting started. I couldn't quite get into the 'arthouse' challenge like I hoped - too much going on to concentrate on it - so I'm not doing any specific crossovers.
Also, my tv area is discombobulated so I just have streaming options for now - hopefully my physical media will be back in action before the end of the month so I can watch a few titles I had planned on.

But, it is what it is, so I decided to save the Elvira 40th anniversary 4 pack of movies on shudder to start tonight off. We'll see how far I get with them before I fall asleep.

I looked it up today and apparently the time between and sunset and dusk is called twilight or something. I don't know, I thought they were the same too, until today.

I was never good at science.

Either way, it's officially dusk where I am now, so Stacy Keach is now driving a truck on my TV.

Here's the 2021 Theme/Subset table spoilerized version.

Talk about right down to the wire! Sorry for the lateness, but I bit off more than I can chew this year.

It just went up in all the usual places.

The Most Offbeat Films Ever Made

Mass Marathon of the Damned XII Presents

The Ultimate Guide to Strange Cinema

***Marathon is optional. Only one theme required to complete.***

It isn’t every film that features man-eating zombie sushi.
But for those searching for just that and more strange things in their viewing queue, this film guide is for you.
Organized by genre, including comedy, horror, action, drama, fantasy, and sci-fi, this title offers 300 reviews of
genre films from all over the world, 160+ photos, and exclusive interviews and quotes from the people behind some
of the most offbeat films ever made. Alongside this curated list of viewing recommendations, longtime fans and new comers to
strange cinema gain bits of fun and informative trivia. For example, David Caruso’s film debut was Without Warning (1980),
a carefree trip into the woods thwarted by killer flying alien discs. Lurking in these so-bad-they’re-good-films,
you’ll find other familiar actors like David Carradine, James Brolin,Martin Landau,
and Ryan Gosling in films like Death Race 2,000 (1975), The Car (1977), The Being (1983), and Lost River (2014).
The zombie sushi, by the way, is from Dead Sushi (2012).

Catalina Island Marathon is one of many marathons happening today.

Either way, it's officially dusk where I am now, so Stacy Keach is now driving a truck on my TV.

I donít remember the title, but is it the one when a truck driver killed his son and he is out for revenge? I only saw it once, but really enjoyed it.

No, I think this is a different one. So far, Keach is a truck driver keeps running into this guy in a green van and suspects him of killing hitchhikers. He'll be in places he stops, on the side of the road digging a hole, etc. It's kind of like a Hitchcock thriller with Jamie Lee Curtis along for the ride. I've not heard of the revenge movie you mentioned.

Trying to read 100+ horror comics to go with my 100+ films. Starting the Challenge off with the subset choice, Road Games, and some Something is Killing the Children.

I think you're referring to the made-for-TV movie Revenge on the Highway with Stacy Keech. I remember it, but almost forgot he did another trucker film until reading your description.

I'm starting off with the AGFA Horror Trailer Show. A quick 80-minute trailer comp to get me in a horror state of mind. Not really sure what I'll catch beyond that, but probably something from Vinegar Syndrome to hit my usual 80s cheeseball requirement for the first day.

I only saw it the one time that it was a Sunday night movie Chad. Been many years. I decided to go with the original Dawn Of The Dead for both my opening movie, and my theme movie for tonight. I have the DVD, but lack of motivation had me looking to stream it on my Chromecast. I happened to find a few different versions of it on YouTube. One thing that caught my eye was I could have sworn that Tom Savini was one of the bikers. Lo and behold, I saw his name as one of them in the closing credits.

I just finished Death Screams and while I was looking trying to decide what to watch next, I ended up deciding on the AGFA Horror Trailer Show also.

I babysit my friend's kids and the mother invited me to go with them to see Addams Family 2 so that's how I began the challenge. Not horror in the traditional sense but had the kid's horror elements. For sure different than how I remember the family, but it was a decent kid's film.

Got a sub to Shudder for the month. Also Cinemassacre is going to be reviewing a different horror film from a different country every day in October.

October 1st-
1. Planet Terror
2. Death Proof
third time viewing as the whole Grindhouse presentation. Still not as good as seeing in a theater.
10-2
3.Treehouse Of Horror 1-4
4.Malignant- Holy crap that twist was messed up! I knew part of it but wasn't expecting that lol.

Finished my weekly reports early at work so that I could sneak in 1-2 films tonight.

Re-watched The Hunt (2020). Jumping into The Evil Dead (1981) in a few minutes.

Just FYI, Kino just announced a free streaming service dedicated to genre films, Kinocult.com. I looked at the site, and the selection is small, but there are several Jean Rollin and Jess Franco films for the checklist.
