Not familiar with it myself, but if anyone wants to set their DVR, Svengoolie tonight is Blood Of Dracula.

Hey Chad, I noticed that Distributor / Studio: Kino Lorber is missing from the checklist. Can that be put back in or should I change my checklisst?

I see now that it got pulled up to the same line as Director or Writer Cameo in Own Film, I wouldn't change anything after all the work you did, we can put two movies on that line if we are using both ot them. Sorry to bother you! Director or Writer Cameo in Own Film / --- Distributor / Studio: Kino Lorber -

Chad, if you're going to go in and fix that ^ issue, could you fix the spelling of Bela Lugosi's name while you're at it?

DVR it and use it for the School, Vampire, or Ladies Who Kill theme nights. It is also ripe for a discussion of gay coding as subtext in the pre-Stonewall era, back when film scripts could only hint at a character's orientation and when gay coded characters were seen as a predatory threat, e.g., the artist's model scene in Dracula's Daughter.

No bother. Fixed on both counts. In all tables. I think that's the second or third time I've been informed that was misspelled, which is odd considering it was already on the list and corrected the previous year. Apparently I keep copy/pasting from an older source.

Starts in just over 30 minutes. I think I'll watch the first two films and save the last two for the Elvira theme (10/5).

Been buying a few blurays for the horror challenge as I always do anyway. But I've been stopping myself from jumping the gun in watching any horror right now since it's so close to the starting time/ day. Buy it's not easy at all to obstain until the starting day.

Since I know we're fans of beer this time of year: Trace Brewing here in Pittsburgh just unveiled something new on draft in honor of our own George Romero, aptly named.

I bought a ticket to see Julia Ducournau's newest film Titane on Friday.

Challenge should (hopefully) start off with a bang

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 17th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

I've been watching horror pretty non-stop all year, but still tossing in occasional dramas, comedies and thrillers as well. October I will likely go exclusively horror unless something particularly cool comes out that grabs me. Although I always get the vibe in September so less likely now that I will be seeing much outside of the genre until the challenge ends. Sometimes I do need a palette cleanse of a comedy or doc or something unrelated to the madness.

Here'a a review of a Halloween themed issue of ReMind magazine that some might want to pick up for the optional category. I plan on reading an issue of Rue Morgue or Horror Hound during the month.

Nice. Glad my Shudder subscription won't expire until December. This is one of the most exciting things they've featured in awhile. Is that an Elvira pillow? I want one of those...I am referring to the actual pillow, btw.

It’s been so difficult trying to restrain myself the past few weeks from watching horror. I can’t wait until Thursday. Road Games & Dead Ringers. Two movies I’ve owned for years and have never seen.

I havenít been able to abstain completely. As soon as September hit, I was already in Halloween mode. Mostly what Iíve been watching is the paranormal programming on Travel Channel. I also got a gift from my dad last week of a pack of trading cards with pictures from old Famous Monsters magazines.

Boy, I miss the old Famous Monsters of Filmlands Magazines. I still remember the first one I bought off of the rack (and the store I bought it from too). There have been other good horror magazines but it was the first really good one that ran over a 100 issues. I will still pick up any old issues that I come across, especially issues that I once owned and then lost (I lost a bunch in a flood in our basement back when I was a kid). They just bring a smile to my face.

Just saw it last night. It's a pretty strange film. Some people REALLY love their cars!

Want to say thanks to Chad for organizing this every year, I always look forward to this challenge! And to everyone who makes a list, I love going through them and adding stuff to my watch queue, also to Goldenwheels for always putting together great prize packs!

Is it Friday yet?

No, but I'm more concerned about when it will be 7:55 p.m. on Thursday. That's when I'm starting!

It's disconcertingly quiet around here for being right at 48 hours (for most of us) from the start of the Challenge.

My crossover film will be an FTV from Kino, The Flesh and the Fiends. I can't find a free source for Road Games, so I guess I'll have to rent it from Amazon.
