Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 16th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

After a very stressful day of working from home yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped out on my front porch to find a box from Hamilton Books.

Thanks to GoldenWheels for making my day a little bit better!

I've slowed down quite a bit, but will still manage to hit 100, complete the checklist, themes and subset picks. This is the first time I have even come close to 100 and completed all three of the optional challenges in a single year. It is also likely that it is the last time it will happen unless we happen to have another pandemic during the challenge in the future.

This one; but it doesn't seem like the same film (who knows how many Caligaris are out there)

Watched August Underground (2001) for the billionth time tonight.

I'm at the point with that film that my nausea comes from the camera work and not the practical FX (which are fantastic).

I'm currently watching In Search of Darkness, the 4 and a half hour 80's horror documentary. I'm really enjoying it and it is serving to remind me of stuff that I need to watch. Was there ever an answer to the question of whether it counts as multiple entries, or just one? I don't care much either way, as I'm definitely going to finish it...I was just curious.

Just picked up scream factory's The Vincent Price Collection III. I never realized Terry Gilliam worked on a horror movie before but it was obvious when Cry of the Banshee came on that the titles were entirely his style.
I just found it bizarre.

I just finished Invisible Woman. Cute film but not exactly horror. Do films in this series get a general pass? I'd hate to go on to Invisible Agent and find a continued move away from horror.

Anywhere to stream these? I know the infamous reputation of the series but never have seen any of them.

Speaking of which, is there a good site people use to find stuff streaming? I know about Just Watch but thought maybe there was somewhere else.

Watched Amityville 3-D (1983) in Real 3D this morning and it has some great 3D but the damn movie is so dull. A waste of a good concept.

Thatís the least horror of the bunch, the others can be more easily argued. But since itís included in the universal horror collection I donít think anyone would blame you for counting it.

By the way...if anyone wants to watch a true, modern day film that has a true "Ed Wood" feel...then Cruel Jaws (1995) is for you!

They are lulling you into a fall sense of security so you won't expect that bonkers last 15 minutes.

Multiple entries. I plan on catching that in the next couple or so days.

That's a fun one. I'm just pissed I missed out on the recent Jaws 5 slip to go alongside my Terminator 2 (Shocking Dark) and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 (Night Killer) slips. Severin has now somehow managed to avoid 3 cease and desist orders.

I didnít hit 100 this year like I had originally hoped, but the other day at least I hit 50. I plan to watch a lot these last couple of days, as I have really enjoyed myself this month. Iíve been watching various shows and movies. I like how The Travel Channel has had a lot of paranormal shows this month. And I particularly enjoyed the Halloween attraction shows that were on Sunday.

Thanks! I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm half tempted to invest in the upcoming sequel and get my name listed in the credits, haha

^Same here. I even went the tax route with Mondo because I just have to have those early numbers.

The midweek reminder. Also an announcement tomorrow regarding the giveaways.

Little disappointed they are downgrading the credit from Special Thanks to Fan Credit.

Just watched The Hitcher (1986). I haven't seen it in probably 20 years. But man, does it hold up. I remember really liking it, but I *loved* it this time. Rutger Hauer at his prime. C. Thomas Howell was great too.

The Craft: Legacy.... so far, I hate every character in this movie.

EDIT: And now I hate myself for having watched it.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 16th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

I’m sad this is almost over. About half my movies this year were first time watches. I think that’s pretty good. I bought a few movies to complete the subset and other challenges.
I sometimes wished I had a S/O to enjoy these films with me, but that’s life.
