Re: The 15th Annual Holiday Challenge 11/22-1/1

Pretty sure this was my first year without watching a single Hallmark or Lifetime Christmas film. But I guess if you’ve seen one...... Still, I sort of missed them, life was just too busy last month for much viewing beyond my minimum checklist. Hopefully I’ll find time for one or two in July.

Always feel like it’s mandatory to watch something New Year’s related on this last day of the Challenge. Usually watch a film like Rudolph’s Shiny New Year, and was going to do one of the Poseiden Adventures today, but my wife insisted on the Rose Parade, so that’s done.

Happy New Year Challenge friends. Thanks for starting the thread shado, and see you all in TV and Academy!

Re: The 15th Annual Holiday Challenge 11/22-1/1

Probably going to watch another couple before I call it a challenge, but I did enjoy this one this year a lot more than usual. I usually start and then never finish the month. That said, I probably won't attempt another challenge until Action/Mystery month, if then. Time for a challenge break for me.

I found some fun new stuff to throw in during the holiday season. I liked some of the Hallmark/Lifetime, but it boggles my mind that every one of them is about romance when there's so much more to Christmas than that, but I don't think I saw any outright terrible garbage ones. Anyway, it was fun. Thanks to shadokitty for hosting and I hope everyone had a happy holiday season.

D'oh! Good catch. I knew I'd mess up a name somewhere and of course it was Mickey Rooney's!

I watched part of the Rose Parade (is that the official name?) today but the whole thing so I won't count it, but that's my last holiday watch for the year. On to Tv on DVD!

Thanks to shadokitty for hosting!

I had a great challenge, was a little worried I wouldn't get everything I wanted to watch in, but it all worked out. And even saw a buncha new movies.

Thanks shadokitty for another great challenge.

question: can we include the new 'Little Women' movie - since two scenes take place at Christmas - with the latter scene being of significance ??

I don’t see why not.

Hallmark was the bulk of my watching, which kept me from rewatching some perennials like Die Hard and It’s a Wonderful Life, but that’s OK.

Thanks for grabbing the baton, shadokitty, and happy new year to everyone!

I wanted to let folks know that I haven’t forgotten about a winner. I just have been delayed in making a post as my computer is sidelined until I get a new power cord.

Random bump but since Halloween is a week away I was wondering if we'll still have the Holiday Challenge this year?

Yeah. If no one else does it, I’ll post the thread in a few days.

The challenge usually begins with Thanksgiving, not Halloween, so it’s not like the 2020 thread is late.

I was just thinking in the time frame of when the discussion thread gets started. I think Hallmark starts their movies this weekend so it’s closer than you might think.

I saw that and said it was crazy, but my wife said, "no, it's 2020."

Discussion threads generally get created about 2-3 weeks in advance, so yeah, we’re approaching that territory.
