Congrats! I saw the tour last year and it was one of my favorite events ever.

Not enough horror credits, but today is Julie Adams’ birthday, and she just passed away this year, so I’m looking for my Creature set.

I just finished watching a show about the scariest Halloween attractions in America that I recorded a couple days ago off of the Travel Channel. One thing that caught my eye was one about 60 miles from me in Buffalo, Frightworld Screampark.

I'll be hitting 50 tonight. Where has the month gone? It is just zipping by. One interesting change this year, though, is I haven't gone on a buying spree to "stock up" on additional titles, as if I needed more choices. My various other projects are expensive enough, so I think a little restraint isn't such a bad thing. I keep telling myself I'm going to take advantage of one of those sales, but I just haven't gotten around to doing so. I guess it's good to be busy. Speaking of some of my various projects, I decided to go with Little Shop of Horrors tonight. I guess it was bound to happen since I've been getting into carnivorous plants, but I wanted something a little more light. It's a rewatch for me, but I don't think my friends have seen the director's cut with the alternate ending. I might have shown one of them before. We'll see.

As far as Lin Shaye goes, I know we've used her before on the checklist but not for theme. The only reason I would maybe hesitate from using her as a theme choice is because many of those credits are nothing for more than a scene.

It was phenomenal and it's Joel's last tour, so I am really glad I went.

I'm going to a local theater tonight for a mystery horror triple feature and it will be fourth year attending this event. The theme of all the movies are "Nouns that Kill".

Her IMDB credits date back to 1975, but she was first notorious for her raunchy scenes in Kingpin and There's Something About Mary

So what are the three movies?

I first misread the theme as "Nuns that Kill". There are certainly a few movies that fit that as well (not to mention nun is a noun)

The movies are a secret. I won't know what they are until I'm in the theater.

I watched The Triangle, a 2001 made-for-television movie, because it stars Luke Perry, and I'm trying to watch movies featuring people from the recently deceased list. It's definitely not something to waste your time with unless you really like Perry, ships, or movies about the Bermuda Triangle. I was amused at how dumb the characters are. The amount of times this small group of people decide to split up - even after the danger is tangible - is staggering.

Also, I'm a fan of movies about groups of grown friends who go on vacation together despite not like each other. I'm 35, and I like all my friends and wouldn't go on vacation with people that I'm likely to dislike.

If anyone is looking for an actually funny horror comedy, check out Hell Baby (2013) if you haven't seen it. I have watched it several times and it makes me laugh out loud a good bit.

And I watch the original Martyrs (2008), and goddamn...what a fucked up movie. It is great and so freaking intense. Don't make the mistake of watching the American remake.

Watching Larry Cohen films it's more obvious to me than ever how brazen many of his films are Gold Told Me To is the kind of blasphemy mild in sex/gore but that my parents would have disowned me for watching, Special Effects is a not bad thriller more interesting for it's sizzling irony with meta elements, The Stuff and It's Alive have obvious social commentary. Guy was a satirical genius.

I love Ginger Snaps, it's a brilliant film and I'm not sure if it's original to Ginger Snaps but ever since then it seems like 'feminine menstruation' werewolves has become a subgenre. It's a smart, funny, and delightfully uncomfortable concept but getting to the point of being tired.

I watched it for the first time on Werewolf theme night. Loved it!

I've always wondered why Katherine Isabelle didn't become a bigger name after Ginger Snaps. And it's even more perplexing after genre credits like American Mary and FvJ. Instead it's mostly bit parts and See No Evil 2.

Sounds similar to the All–Night Horror Show at the New Bev. Wish I had something like that locally.

Mystery movie #1 was Maximum Overdrive. That was ridiculous.

Movie #2 was Cooties. No big deal since I've already seen it.

Sometimes, the people who make Supernatural puzzle me... It's the last season. Lauren Cohan makes it known that she'd love to come back for the final season. They set it up the final season perfectly for her character to reappear So, what do they do? They bring back Ketch...who I struggle to even remember most of the time. Kevin and Rowena are good returnees, but Ketch? Granted, I don't know what waits in the last 18 episodes, but this show has been regularly frustrating me since the end of Season 5.

Well, the directors of American Mary did do See No Evil 2, so makes sense why she did that and got to work with Danielle Harris. Shocking how See No Evil 2 didn't do too well with those involved. Soska Sisters kind of, outside of social media, disappeared as well too. But Ginger Snaps and American Mary are both "cult/indy" films and she never did break out in mainstream.

Is the American remake that bad? It does have one of the girls from Pretty Little Liars.

Did that earlier this month. Both a blessing and a curse. Curious if more are out there in Orange County, San Diego and LA area.

Currently watching It Follows. I can't believe this movie is already 5 years old. I still love it and believe it's one of the best horror movies of the past 5 years. But, some of the logic gives me questions. I get the rules and understand there's no definitive answers on how this "being" came about, but I just don't understand how this thing can exist and there not be a ton of suspicious deaths in the area. Theoretically, people would be getting murdered all the time, every day until only virgins existed. It just feels like part of the story is missing. Possibly from that Annie girl in the opening... Maybe I'm thinking about it too hard... still, I love almost everything about this one.

It Follows is absolutely great!

I decided to watch House by the Cemetery for the checklist.... At least I've been drinking...

I thought so. But then again, I had seen the original before so maybe my view was tainted. I do remember despising the American remake so much that I literally have no memory now of what made me hate it except that it seemed to change some major plot points and had none of the bite or effect the original had.

Kinda like The Last House On The Left remake which I endured the other day (for the last time I promised myself). Just a crappy cash-in job on the original name with none of the original's power.

I need to remember to stop revisiting movies I hated in hoping that I will find something to like about them.

I actually like the remake because of Paxton. I thought it was fun. What didn't you like about it since you just watched it?
