Friday the 13th 1-8 Movie Collection is on sale for $12.99 at iTunes today.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie-co...n/id1297061046

UPDATE - Vudu dropped their price to $13.00. But the original movie is the Theatrical Version. The iTunes bundle has the Uncut original.

I got an early start this morning with the original Wolf Man . From the new Wolf Man Legacy Collection, or rather the newer one.

Edit: Also Another Wolf Cop and maybe F13: New Blood.
I went through the list a few days ago and picked a few I may track down for the challenge. I actually may start with The Snarling tonight and then transition into the first F13th.

Anyone see It Chapter 2 already? Hit any of today’s themes? There was a werewolf in the 90s one.

The Snarling was disappointing; it's obnoxiously bad in a way that I think is meta humor which is maybe cute but rarely funny and too casual for my tastes. There was one scene where to simulate a werewolf attack they use a strobe light and shake the camera with a closeup, which was funny but I don't think I was prepared enough for the self-aware semi-humor going in - it's either a horribly botched horror movie or a brilliant sly comedy. The Snarling was confusing enough I'm considering suggesting it for a subset next year to get revenge on Jacob_b for Rob Zombie this year and SterlingBen for Killer Tongue all those years ago, a torment that cannot be repaid.

Another WolfCop was 'another' intentionally bad movie that ended up being more fun but my patience for films that stretch hard to be cult sometimes gets thin. There was enough cartoonish carnage and oddball crap to take away from WolfCop's super hero invulnerability, with a villain more eccentric than WolfCop himself, and kicks the pace along nicely that it's worth a watch. It reminded me a little of an adult live action Scooby Doo.

I don't recall anything that would fit today's themes.

While not my favorite it gets a bad rap (for not having Jason as the killer). Like Halloween 3, I appreciate that the filmmakers didn't want to keep doing the same old thing and try something different (while still maintaining the tone of the earlier movies). While not necessarily a "good" movie, it's an awfully fun one,

Got a head start with the Lugosi/Karloff classic The Black Cat late last night (right after midnight). A weird disjointed yet striking movie. When going through my DVDs last night I was reminded that Lugosi did another movie called The Black Cat just a few years later. While my memories of earlier viewings of the 1934 movie are strong, I remember pretty much nothing about the 1941 film (so I'll probably cue that one up later today).

I don't know if getting older is part of it, but in the last year I have the hardest trouble getting a good night's sleep if the last thing I do before going to bed is watch tv. I know the biology explains that it's generally not good for sleep (in fact I teach the biology in neuroscience), but I was always able to do it in past Horror challenges.

Watched F13, Final Chapter, A new beginning and now watching part 6. i still think 4 is the best of a great series.

Dan Bradley definitely did not make a very good jason, so i see why they switched him out in part 6

Reminder this excellent fan film with Thom Mathews from Jason Lives exists:

And looks like more are on the way, which is probably the only thing new we'll get for awhile with the ongoing legal issues.

Yeah, normally Fright-Rags releases a new Jason shirt on each Friday the 13th... this year there was nothing. I assume it's also due to the legal issues since they work with the licencors legitimately.

How do you change font sizes and link previous lists to a list post? It's changed since the forum was updated.

I watched Sleepaway Camp for the first time thanks to being free on Vudu. I thought it was a F13th knockoff with more homoeroticism thrown in but the ending was a surprise. I'm watching the sequel right now.

I’ve been busy on PS4 for a lot of the day, but am settling in in bed for the night. Going to watch TV the rest of the night, including some possible additions to today’s list.

In the edit menu, the toolbar that opens when your typing a post there is a icon labelled 'source.' If you click that it let's you use the same formatting as before with brackets - that's how I've been doing it.

I thought Sleepaway Camp II was surprisingly good; but part 3 is a bizarre decline in quality (because I think it was shot back to back).

Or - Go into "User CP" - "Edit Options" - and change your editor (in the Miscellaneous Options at the bottom - Message Editor Interface) to "Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls" and you'll get back the ability to do things as before.

Look up at the sky. For the first time in 20 years, it's a full moon . . . on the Sabbath!

“Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and Autumn moon is bright.”

Not only is it Friday the 13th with a Full Moon - but it's also a Harvest Moon, one of the brightest in the fall and rises at sunset.

I could only fit in one today, so I’m watching Part IV because of the mentions here. I believe it’s a first-time watch, AND it has quality nudity.

Wanted to be different and watch some original qualifying films, but my OCD kicked in and I just watched the Friday the 13th first trilogy. Might throw in the fourth or some Wolfman now.

So far I've watched F13 Part 3 and The Final Chapter. Part 3 was really weak but I have to agree with the people who like Final Chapter - it's really good. I'm not familiar enough with the series to say it's the best but it has to be right up there. I'll probably watch Parts V and VI during the challenge because right now I want to move on to a werewolf movie although I'm not sure just what.

Jason Takes Manhattan had the most obnoxious sound editing. I'd turn my TV up because I couldn't hear them talk and then when action would hit, it blast the roof off of the house and I'd have to turn it back down.

I've caught The Final Chapter so far. Never noticed, but at the very first there's a bit of foreshadowing of part 5 with the ambulance driver. Crispen Glover steals every scene he's in. Up next is Jason Takes a Boat ...err Manhattan. Also hoping to squeeze in either Howling II or FvJ. We'll see.
