I'm just a couple away from episode 1000! Even though it sounds kind of insulting to the show, there's so much repetition (of key story information) that it's an easy show to watch without being 100% focused on it. So I've been steadily chugging through episodes while eating alone, exercising, while dozing off late night, while traveling (even though I have the box set, everything appears to be on Amazon Prime and I can download episodes to my device).
I'm into the weird period where most of the key actors are busy with The House of Dark Shadows movie (which not coincidentally is when the show starting losing viewers and ended up being cancelled in less than a year). Despite the limited cast, so far I'm enjoying the new big story lines. Again drawing from classic gothic and horror: this time putting the Dark Shadows spin on
Spoiler:
Rebecca and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. All of this set in an alternate Universe (since Barnabas, in addition to being a vampire, has powers to travel through time and dimensions).

I was perusing the Rotten Tomatoes Best Movies of 2019 (so far....) list and the number one movie was One Cut of the Dead....

I haven't even received mine yet (In Search of Darkness). They gave me a free download link and I did that, but haven't watched it yet as I hate watching stuff on my computer. But so far, they've got my money and I've received zilch. Also, they have me down for the wrong edition. ordered the Elvira one and they're sending me the Corey Taylor one. At this point, I don't even care...

After watching that I'm not so bummed that I missed out on backing it.

Similar story, I backed Troma's Return to Nuke 'em High Vol 2. back in 2015. The movie was finished in 2017, and backers were supposed to get their copies before street date. Needless to say we're still waiting.

Hopefully that is a link to an announcement of his retirement from filmmaking.

Looks like they mostly fixed the issues with In Search of Darkness

^If anybody's planning on catching Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter wait until 9 PM EST to hit play because Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy are doing a live tweet:

The email I got from them said "orders should arrive before the 10th of March". That didn't happen.

I'll be happy to send the Chinese BD-R that was originally sent to anyone that wants it postage paid if the replacement actually does come. It might be a bit finicky in some players, but I've heard it plays alright for most (haven't tried it). Just keep in mind it arrived in November, which was before we knew the Chinese government suppressed information about the Coronavirus hitting in October. Might wanna Lysol it first.

Sad that we have a reason for a Stuart Gordon theme day this October.

Bizarre our of season comment. But I just watched the 2006 Black Xmas (which I have avoided for years because why bother when you have the original Black Christmas, right?)

And it is this amazingly weird, over the top, almost fake horror movie. Like the kind of horror movie that would be playing on tv as a joke in another movie.

Sad to say it is better than the latest one. The 2019 one is an absolute disgrace! Avoid it like the plague... err, like COVID-19!

I'm loving working my way through Shudder's offerings and holding off on SOME of Joe Bob until October.

I’ve been watching a lot of haunting shows on Dish and Travel Channel Go lately.

Good point. Maybe there should be a Pre-horror movie challenge in July this year.

I'm up for it. Been watching a lot of horror lately. And we just for a 4K TV, so I've been looking for 4K horror. Should be a category, methinks!

I wouldn't wait on watching the Joe Bob episodes. When Shudder drops the movie from their library, they also drop the Joe Bob version. Season 1 has already lost 4 episodes. Only half of the original marathon is still available.

I wouldn't mind changing it to:

400 Movies. 4 Months. The Coronavirus Special "Horror Movie Challenge" 2020 (07/1 - 10/31)
