Do any of you have any ways of tracking when stuff goes out of print? As opposed to finding out months after the fact when the movie has disappeared from online stores and b&m shelves?
In February of this year, Friday the 13th: The 8-Movie Collection (parts 1-8) was released on blu-ray. I kept seeing it on Amazon for around $26-ish. I Kept meaning to buy it, and this week I went to put it on my X-mas wish list, only to discover it seems to have gone out of print as of late September/early October. In the month since it went out of print, it has disappeared from every online retailer, and I couldn't find a single brick and mortar store that had it...until tonight, I luckily tracked down one copy of it for myself, so yay for that! :-D
If I had known in early October, I'd have grabbed a copy quickly on Amazon, or gone to my nearby Best Buy. As it is, I had to drive about 25 miles to the store I found it at tonight.
