I am seeing a 12/18 date for the Venom bluray release date. Is this a digital release date or the actual date?

Unless Sony moved it, which is highly unlikely, i am guessing its the Digital

so here is how time has changed in the industry.

twenty years ago. Summer movies from July and August never made it to Rental shelves until Winter of the following year, now we have September and October films coming out before Christmas

then when DVD/Blu came out, Studios pushed to get as much of the summer our before Christmas. which they succeeded in doing, to the fact, that a lot of fall ended up before Christmas. now studios just don't care. Films like A star is Born, Venom, Goosebumps, Halloween A.X.L. could all be in stockings, or out for the holidays, but now. studios are scheduling films a bit different. the market is dying. best buy cut their shelf space for DVDs down again. Pretty soon. its only going to be available digitally

I remember those days very well. I use to stalk the shelves of Phar-Mor, Block Buster and West Coast Video as a kid. It was like 6 months for a movie to hit video, which was tortuous. Then you would get something like Batman or Jurassic Park coming out 4 months after the theatrical release. Now with the release windows getting shorter I see less at the theater. Just catch it on video. Though I do stream I hope physical media sticks around b/c there are movies worth owning a hard copy of.

Sorry, I don't mean to clog the thread. Thanks for your posts. I always appreciate your info and when you discuss the industry.

I now just searched Goosebumps 2 bluray release date and a date of 12/18/2018 is being listed. Could this be the digital date or the bluray release date?

If you don’t mind me asking, what is the Apostle movie listed for 1/22? Would be amazing if it were the Netflix one.

also most likely being bumped up for the Holidays. i think a lot of studios, were going to skip the holidays, but are second guessing themselves. like Sony with Venom. so it would not surprise me that Goosebumps takes the same route.

btw. Girl in the Spiders Web is Feb 5th

If that's getting a release, then there's hope for "Roma" and "Mudbound" releases.

Mid February, probably around Valentines day, although i have been hearing that its Streeting on 2/5 from various sources.

also heard that Fantastic Beasts 2 is coming Feb 26th.

December is pretty much done. i think they are going to add Goosebumps Haunted Halloween and possibly Hunter Killer on 12/18 and 12/25 respectivly
