What were they thinking with Sleepaway Camp 3?
Blood Punch is available by CineFest subscription on Amazon Prime, I enjoyed it. It's about cursed land where smucks trying a drug heist die and re-live the same day every day.
I loved The Transfiguration when I saw it last year, it's a very moody film; just the right amount of macabre twist in a gritty urban tale.
Catching up on my Netflix and Amazon Prime queues, so far The Transfiguration is my favorite first-time view. Not really much of a horror movie (its a vampire movie without a vampire) ... more of an indie-drama urban coming-of-age story (with a dash of Let the Right One In and Romero's Martin). But I thought it was very well done.

Just finished up two day’s with the Psycho films. The first one I didn’t think worked well with me before. But with a repeat viewing over the years it really got to me this time. It’s gotten better over time with me. Especially the ending creepy scene. Psycho II also worked well. One of the better sequels compared to other films. So I was happy with these two viewings.

The Star Wars product placement was very strong in Making Contact (Joey), and with a Darth cameo to boot. Even a little Disney foreshadowing. And how can we rip... err top Poltergeist? Get 50 parapsychologists / paranormal investigators in the house and turn it into E.T.!
Thanks, glad they're being used. Wanted to make them more than just filler.

Not sure how that wouldn't count as horror...
Real question, does Coma the miniseries count as horror? The movie is tagged as horror on IMDB but not the miniseries.

Since there's an '80s theme today--I keep hearing about this, and its already surpassed the Kickstarter goal.

And while on the subject, any recommendations for some good recent horror documentaries? Unearthed and Untold is really all I've caught lately, with Just Desserts and King Cohen in my to watch list.

5 movies today and I'm tired. Great theme of the day. My favorites today were Basket Case (1982) and The Hidden (1987). I miss Kyle MacLachlan!

Slaughterhouse Rock is the best kind of horrible crap, had a lot of fun with the campiness of that one. It is not set in a slaughterhouse and does not rock, unless you consider Devo rock; but is worth getting into - whatever it is.
Murder Obsession was an incredible italian gothic thriller, I went into it reluctantly and randomly not expecting much but it's got incredible atmosphere, lurid pageantry, and some great twists. This is from a Raro Video blu-ray I somehow acquired but am not sure how - maybe Hastings going out of business, glad to have finally crossed that one off the 'to watch list.'

Deep Discount is having a BOGO sale on some Lionsgate titles, and that includes the Vestron line:

I decided tonight that I want to binge a lot for this Challenge, being a fan of Halloween. Since I have insomnia tonight, I was browsing the Dish Guide for something to watch. I found an interesting documentary on Newsmax TV called Evil: The World's Deadliest Mind. I'm not sure if it's a series, or a one shot show, but the one I watched was all about witches and witch hunters. There was even one segment about how modern day witch hunters still murder suspected witches to this day.

Reminded me of a mix of Fulci+Barker. Take some Beyond, throw in some Hellraiser, a little House by the Cemetery...very, very cool.

I'm still digesting a couple of recent Amazon Prime movies I saw yesterday. Two Pigeons was a pleasant surprise (well, it was incredibly cringe-inducing but that can be a good thing). It's one of those movies with a very small cast (4 characters, not including the two pigeons) and a limited set (everything takes place in a small London apartment). About a man who's unknowingly sharing his small apartment with someone whose sole purpose is to make his life a living hell.
I'm still not sure about The Blackcoat's Daughter. It's for patient viewers only to be sure (nothing "horror" really happens until the last 30 minutes, and it's non-linear storytelling style can be confusing at times). But it has great atmosphere and music. And despite having few outright scares it has a sad nihilistic tone that creeps up on you. For adventurous viewers, it's probably best to go in completely blind. But the reviews pretty much all give away that it's ultimately a horror movie about
