Riding out the remnants of the hurricane, but I really need to give a huge thumbs up for the Vinegar packages. The 6 month package has turned out to be a very nice deal this time around. I went for the complete 6 month package (includes DVDs), and I've been able to get rid of most of the stuff that I didn't want on eBay. I don't need to worry about having to order VS disks anymore, as they magically appear on my front porch once a month. This was my first time subscribing, but I'm pretty sure I will go again the next time it's offered around black Friday.

Yeah, I did horror pack for about a year, but ultimately decided it wasn’t worth it.
Probably averaged one duplicate every month, and the exclusives were never all that great. Maybe worthwhile if you’re just starting building a horror collection though.
I am currently doing their bi-monthly Coffin Pack though. It’s $29 with shipping. It includes each issue of Rue Morgue, a t-shirt, a Blu-ray, and 1-2 mystery items. The last box included a cool Halloween t-shirt, Train to Busan BD, a Puppet Master mini action figure, and a trading card signed by the director of some indie horror film. For me, it’s basically worth it just to get the magazine and t-shirts. The BD and bonus items are just gravy.

For those that did get HorrorPack, anyone watched the blu-ray of Dead Hooker in a Trunk yet?

Starting to get into the spirit of things now...
This year, I have a job, so I won't even touch half of what I watched last year, but I still plan on getting to a hundred at the very least. I've started warming up with some September viewing, which I know don't count, but they go on my 'Preview' section on my list.
Got through the first season of Castle Rock. It started off slow, but it got better the second half. Still a lot of unanswered questions, but I guess that's why we will get season 2 next year.
From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series is what I'm currently watching. It's decent. I like the movie better, but it's not bad so far.

I’m gearing up for it too, making much of my DVDTalk Criterion Challenge viewing horror related.

I too am watching horror. I see Ghostober has been moved from Destination America to The Travel Channel this year.

I saw The Nun on Thursday. Before it was released, there was a lot of hype around it and how great and scary it was supposed to be. Then the reviews kicked in and it didn't sound too promising. Hoping reviews were wrong, had a bit of hope. And it was pretty bad. Def is making me think I need to start this challenge with some really good horror films to get me in the mood and keep me satisfied. I usually save my favorites for last and then run out of time, but may have to switch it around this year.

I watched Mandy, last night. I enjoyed it, it won't be for everyone but if you like trippy revenge movies and Nic Cage, it's worth your time.

It does have a gothic feel. But for something like that, I would rather watch Woman in Black (though it is a painful movie to watch sometimes or that one movie that came out 2-3 years ago with Tom Heddlestin (Loki). This, due to some technology and other things, I couldn't get into the era of it. Just looking at Wiki, I noticed a flashlight was around since 1890 or so, but to me, it kind of got me out of the movie a bit.

It's one of the few Joe D'Amato flicks I haven't caught, so it's a blind buy for me. Looks right up my alley though.
Three times? Holy shit. That said, the spot's currently open.

Yeah, I put that one on the watch list. I'm in a weird place with Nic Cage. I like him, but I lost faith in him a long time ago. I hope it's good.

After the third year I just thought it was intentional and that was my day.

I have been horror fasting for months now, I can't wait for the challenge to start.
My challenge is going to be paired down quite a bit this year in both formatting and quantity. Life, ya know.
Going back to my older list style too as the columns were a bit of an editing nightmare. (For anyone going back to look, my posts are better viewed in line with the rest of the list thread, formatting for single post view was very disappointing last year).

I'll have to add that one, too. The thing about this challenge for me is, just when I thought I had seen everything, this forum pulls out some stuff I didn't even know existed. I was movie-obsessed in 1989 and have never heard of this.
Mandy actually looks more my speed, but there's something about crazy Nic Cage that just makes me have to see Mom and Dad. Technically, I could throw Ghost Rider, Pay the Ghost, or Vampire's Kiss in there, too, but I'm not sure I want to watch any of those again.
