I just hit 50 with my first Hallmark movie of the season. It was a very sweet movie called Sharing Christmas , about a woman who was trying to save her Christmas store after the building was sold.

I got an early start to today's holiday viewing. I was browsing the Dish Guide and saw that the episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, on Disney Junior was a Christmas episode. It was all about Mickey and Donald traveling with Mrs. Claus to help Santa fix his sleigh, or there wouldn't be any Christmas. That show is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. I don't go out of my way to watch it, but I enjoy it when I do see it.

I got a bundle of the three Family Guy episodes on the cheap from Vudu, and I had to get this years episode as well. Family Guy did their version of a Christmas Carol with Patrick Swayze as the ghost of Christmas past. Plus I’m watching Swayze’s Christmas movie tonight Christmas in Wonderland.

I didn't like Four Christmases that much when I first saw it, but it gets funnier every year and now it's a favorite.

I didn't like it when I first saw it either, maybe I'll try watching it again at some point.

Same here. It kind of grows on you over time.
I'm also finding Elf less offensive with each viewing (my grandkids like it so I watch it with them). I still detest Will Farrell and some of the absolute stupidity on display but its heart is in the right place.

I watched my first wild card entry tonight. I haven't been able to watch the Lord of the Rings for several years, and just got done with The Fellowship of the Ring EE. Its hard for me to even think this came out in 2001 and its 16 years later. It meant a lot to me to see this series in theaters at the time over my winter break during college. The three and a half hours went by quick.

I watched my new BR of Scrooge (1935). I have to say it's the absolutely best looking version of this film I've seen. It's still rough in spots but more than watchable. Unfortunately, it's the shorter 60 minute version of the film, but I truly didn't notice missing material. But I also don't think I've ever seen it uncut so truly don't know what's missing.
I was so impressed with the BW quality that I decided to immediately watch the colorized version included on the disc. I'm not a fan of colorization, other than that it normally provides a excellent BW remaster in the process, but this one is one of the best I've seen. Colors are good, natural, properly saturated, and don't disappear in areas I normally notice are lacking - fast pans, cross fades, and fade to black specifically, and especially the interior of mouths. This one has none of that, even mouth interiors are properly done! Surprisingly, it adds to the experience. This version is from Legend Films and I've always been impressed with their remastering and colorization efforts. Like others they've done, I don't know if I'll ever watch the colorized again but it's there.
The default "play" version is the original BW with the color version in the "Special Features" section, along with a nice selection of Christmas cartoons from the era.

I think I might be done with this challenge now. I’m no longer in the holiday spirit. My boxers got into a fight today, and one of them who has always had a weak heart, had a heart attack and now she’s gone. Our other dogs know she’s gone too.

So sorry to hear that. We had 3 bulldogs and lost 1 in April, so I understand. I'm sure you gave her a great life.

Amazon has a bunch of Lifetime Christmas movies you can buy for 99c.
I watched this one - one of the better Hallmark/Lifetimes movies I've seen. If you browse the "people also bought" on that page you can find the other 99c movies.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I bawled for about half an hour.

My third annual Holiday Mystery triple feature that I go to at a local theater was tonight. I saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Rare Exports for the first time tonight. I never thought of it, but Invasion U.S.A was set during Christmas, there is numerous references to it being set during the Holiday Season. It was my last movie of the night.

Regarding Frozen , there was an episode of Sofia The First that guest starred Olaf as a central character, so that would make Frozen eligible for the TV on DVD * Challenge, in my opinion.

Everyone please stop whatever you're doing and watch Pottersville, so I don't have to be the only one. This movie is indescribable, it's like the Martin Short of movies trying so hard to be funny, yet never pulling it off. It's got a nearly A-list cast and is on Netflix, so watch and question your own life and sanity.

We watched The Ref last night after a number of people recommended it. I didn't love it the way I thought it was. It was okay.

Sorry I've been so absent, but I'm still around.
Regarding Frozen, the film takes place in the summer so it does not count. The new short does though as it is Christmas-centric.
