I saw that A Very Brady Christmas is finally on DVD outside of the complete series and then I saw that both Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Frasier have DVDs with only the Christmas episodes. I wish other shows would do this.

I'd be happy if they'd do this with the Roseanne Halloween episodes. I didn't much care for the show, (well... not enough to purchase the whole thing) but usually liked the Halloween episodes. I'd purchase those if released stand-alone.

It's been out for years iirc.

The things you find out here...

Thanks! I dropped a copy in my Amazon cart (although... I can get the entire series from MC for ~$22 and that Halloween disc is ~$8 - I might have to reconsider... I hate when that kind of stuff happens... my OCD completist/bargain side kicks in).

I watched The Nightmare Before Christmas tonight with my nieces. Was going to wait until it counted, but they wanted to see it and how can I say no to one of my favorite movies? I love this film just as much now as I did when it came out originally...that doesn't always happen when films age, but this one is pretty universal, I think.

I just hope there's enough people to participate.

Is there a reason there wouldn't be?

I'm really forward to starting officially! Really been holding back, with one exception, on not watching until this starts.

I've been watching Christmas movies since Halloween, but maybe its too early for some people. I'm just going by the activity in this thread and the Hallmark thread.

I know I'm waiting because I don't want to burn out. I also want to watch a few that I know are the checklist and I don't usually re-watch a movie in the same month, so waiting to get the credit.

Last year, about 33-34 people participated in the list thread, but I doubt all of those people participated in the discussion. As a host of 2 of these challenges, the trend I've seen is there is usually a dedicated 5 or 6 people that comment frequently, a handful more that chime in randomly, and a lot more that just add to their lists...

Also, I bet there are several people that are participating in the comedy thread, so they are focusing on that until this one starts...

I'm a fan of the Hallmark movies, but I haven't watched one in full yet. Feels a little early.

The overlap will hit pretty soon, though.

Many probably stick in the Comedy Challenge until December before starting with Holiday.

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 13th Annual Holiday Challenge (11/18-1/1)

My daughter wanted to see a movie over the weekend. I gave her a few options and she was excited about Daddy's Home Two, so that's what we viewed. Didn't know until it started that it takes place over the holidays. There was a small part of me that couldn't quite enjoy it knowing I should have saved it for next weekend. These challenges mess with my mind.

I know I’m finding it harder and harder to wait. I still need to dig out my copy of the He Man She Ra Holiday Special , among other things.

As a precursor for the holiday season, a local radio station has began their Christmas giveaway contest this morning.

I listened to the radio station last night that usually plays christmas music, they are running a contest for when will be the exact date and time they switch over to Christmas music. The Prize is $1,000. I think they'll probably switch over at exactly midnight on Sunday November 19th, the beginning of the Thanksgiving Holiday Week.

I expect mine to start Friday morning at 6. I think that's when they started last year. Looking forward to it.

I might be remembering wrong, but wasn't a link to a list of Christmas episodes of TV shows posted last year?

I have Fred Claus on the DVR, and I plan to watch at least one Hallmark Channel movie.

A heads up that on St Andrew's Day (November 30) TCM will be having a mini-festival of Scottish-themed films:
WEE GEORDIE
THE MAGGIE (aka HIGH AND DRY)
MASTER OF BALLANTRAE
BRIGADOON
LOCAL HERO

Get-TV was caught up in the FIOS/ Univision dispute, so I don't have it right now. I will try to find those eps on YouTube and Daily Motion.

Here's this year's Christmas TV Schedule.
