Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

STORE ONLY 15% OFF Coupons -- Unknown if multi-use or if will work on 40% Off Items
15% OFF Single Item Exp 12/31/2017 (I)
15% OFF Single Item Exp 12/31/2017 (II)
15% OFF Single Item Exp ?? (III)

15% Single Item exp 11/6 2:59am ET -- if these are all used I can post some more.
New codes added below at least to make the bots and lurkers work a little harder. Used codes removed 3:30pm. New Codes added

That's a good point. We do have a fair amount of people who show up here only for Octobers, some whose only posts are the one in the list thread. My guess is that most of those people don't engage to the point where they'd vote, but you'd know for sure.

Fingers crossed we do get a stellar release for Night of the Living Dead from Criterion soon.

Demon Knight is a great film; totally under rated. I wonder if the 'Tales from the Crypt' monkier didn't hold it down some because it made it easier for people to dismiss it as some death knell from the tv series. Billy Zane is great and there's a lot happening. I was fortunate to see Demon Knight in theaters when it came out and I think it's held up very well over the years.
Monkey Shines holds a strange place in my memory. I saw it early in terms of my movie watching life, so both the genuine horror and the, er..., unique sex education, warped my fragile virgin brain. I've rarely rewatched it, preferring to keep it on that odd pedestal.

Demon Knight sounds like another to put on the watch pile. Thanks!

A Dark Song: I liked how the movie really went into the nuts-and-bolts of an elaborate occult ritual. Not for those looking for a body count or a thrill ride. It's more interested in character study ... but a good little movie that is something different from what I've seen before.
I agree with you about A Dark Song. My favorite new horror movie I watched this year. I loved the way they really tried to take the esoteric occult aspect seriously and the deliberate creep of it. I also really loved the unlikable mage character and the ending.

I've heard some really good things about A Dark Song. I've got it in the queue for this weekend.

Another shout out for Demon Knight. I always thought it was really unique, and a good use of Billy Zane.

I'm actually starting to get a bit burned out, and the evenings are really starting to take a nice turn towards feeling like fall. The dog really is agitating quite a bit because we rarely go for a walk in the evenings this month.

Trevor's got me interested in Monkey Shines now. I remember seeing it many years ago, but can't remember much other than Elizabeth Shue.

Last night, I watched Manos: The Hands of Fate without a riff, and can confirm that it was the worst film ever made. I say "was the worst" because today I saw the now worst film ever made, Boo 2! A Madea Halloween.

Wait, did you see Hobgoblins? The 'thief' at the end brought 2 pairs of nunchucks to the finale.

I will also admit to watching Boo 2! A Madea Halloween; I never understood these Madea movies because while an in your face assertive person could be funny they seem to just revert to the most awkward low brown 'humor.' These must have been a 20 minute segment of the Madea gang sitting around in a living room joking about 'hos'. At lease Boo 2 tries harder at horror elememts that the even suckier Boo 1. Bijuiice?

One thing that never fails to amaze me is thd parents who bring their kids into some of these movies like Madea 2.

Caught the underrated The Dark Half for Romero day. Not a bad adaptation for one of King's (IMO) lesser novels. Surprised it doesn't get more recognition as one of the better 90s horror films.

I plan on digging mine out tonight and catching the dead trilogy in HD for the first time. Also my first 4K genre viewing (Dawn Euro cut)!

The third one probably put a stop to any future installments. That was Creepshow 3 terrible. Even the Crypt keeper itself looked "off"; didn't seem to have all the animatronics functioning properly.

It'll always been known as the film that kept him from directing Pet Sematary. That would've been an interesting take.

While I wouldn't use the term worst ever made, it was a very bad film. Luckily, I paid for Happy Death Day and saw Boo! 2 for free because I'm sneaky like that. I like Madea to a certain extent, but the schtick does get old.

Going to binge Stranger Things tonight in preparation for Season 2, which drops in less than 12 hours. I haven't been this excited for a TV show since Lost went off the air.

Nah, in these circumstances what you say is "stupid autocorrect".

My take is that that neither of those films is "ethnic horror." Tales from the Hood has the racist vs. the slave dolls story, but other than that, the film does not depend on race as a source of horror, and really, you could have subbed in any other oppressed group since the doll segment is just a revenge tale.

Ganja and Hess is a vampire story with black people, but their race is irrelevant. You could have made them Asian or white or Latino, and it would be the same film. Blacula stars the magnificent William Marshall and has a predominantly black cast, but apart from Dracula acting like a KKK Grand Wizard in the pre-credits scene, its plot doesn't really involve race.

Get Out, OTOH, derives its horror from America's discomfort with confronting racism in supposedly "nice", well-to-do white people. I knew Jordan Peele was a horror fan from interviews, and the Key & Peele Halloween episodes he wrote show that he really knows the genre inside and out, but damn, Get Out is a masterpiece. I can't wait to see what he directs next.

Jordan Peele gave a foretaste of his take on American racism with the brilliant

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Hello, all. I just joined this forum for the tail end of the 2017 October challenge. I found this group by googling for October horror movie challenges. I've been a horror fan all my life and have watched tons over the years. I've watched almost 30 movies for the month of October, but I haven't been following a checklist so I may not complete the challenge this year. Or rather, I plan to complete it, but I will likely run well into November.

My preferences in horror are psychological, cult, satanic, ghosts, monsters, evil kids, etc. I like Asian horror, Euro, and classic 60's-90's horror as well as new releases. I'm a bit over found footage but still run across stuff I like such as the recent Hell House LLC. My least fav sub-genre is torture porn/hard core slasher stuff like Wolf Creek. However, I'm cool with gore when pain is not the focal point. I love the Final Destination movies and, recently, Death Note (on Netflix) and HOWL (the UK train/werewolves movie). I live in Pennsylvania on a farm with my husband and lots of animals.

Anyway, nice to find this group and I look forward to interacting with you all in the future.

Welcome to the forum! Don't worry about "completing" the Challenge. Someone who watches one film is equal to someone who watches 300. All that really matters is participating in the fun and the threads.

Please do stick around. The forum isn't huge, but there are active threads on pretty much every subject if you look around the various subforums.

I got that type of feeling while I was watching. There's quite a lot to process in that one, both visually and aurally. Had I watched it during a non-challenge month I'd have watched it a 2nd time either the same day or within a couple of days.

I saw it on sale for $5 at BB. Said Scariest movie of 2015 on the back. So I took a shot. I lost on this one. I think that I'll throw it in the garbage and take the loss.

Bordello is what did in the series but I liked it. Maybe because I didn't compare it to Demon Knight.

The third didn't even get the Tales From the Crypt name until it was released on DVD.

I'll be the first one to say that It Follows was a fantastic throwback to 70s slow burn horror that I thought also worked as compelling symbolism about the loss of innocence as adolescents transition into adulthood. The great cinematography and a suspenseful synth score really worked for the film

Yeah, it's definitely giving a wink to genre conventions. I should try to fit it in again this year.
