Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

STORE ONLY 15% OFF Coupons -- Unknown if multi-use or if will work on 40% Off Items
15% OFF Single Item Exp 12/31/2017 (I)
15% OFF Single Item Exp 12/31/2017 (II)
15% OFF Single Item Exp ?? (III)

15% Single Item exp 11/6 2:59am ET -- if these are all used I can post some more.
New codes added below at least to make the bots and lurkers work a little harder. Used codes removed 3:30pm. New Codes added

Is there a better dog in a horror movie than Beast from The Hills Have Eyes? Thor from Bad Moon gets an honorable mention.

Is Beast the first (only?) dog in movie history to merit his own flashback scene?

How true! I do that all the time. If I don't, I'll likely never watch those "lesser" films but it also keeps pushing back the "good stuff" almost forever. At least that's how it feels at times.

I like Thor better...but the dog from Poltergeist 2 snagging that electric cable from killing all of the family towards the end gives him a few props, even if he wasn't as prominent as some other horror movie canines.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Small moviepass update: I've now seen three horror films in the three days I've had the card. Sounded too good to be true, but it works flawlessly and easily so far. Highly recommended for anyone with a participating theater and a desire to see at least one film a month.

But I imagine the sequels and remake won't get deluxe remasters, and even if they do there'd be no need to purchase them. So think of the $10 as a set of three follow-ups and a BD duplicate you could gift away.

lol I'm still horrible on that with comics, and re-watching classic films and TV, but getting a little better at seeking out classic films for first-time views.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Thought you all might be interested in an update on the monthly horror blu-ray subscription service Horrorpack. 4 horror BDs a month for $20-25 a month depending on your plan, with a BD bonus for yearly subscribers. Disappointed that October didn't include anything special at all, just the normal four BDs with one of them a Horrorpack exclusive. Initially thought I owned 3 of the 4, but it turned out to be a solid "win" of a month for me.

While I do own this BD, this is a new sku with a UV code, so not a total loss.

Thought I owned this, but it turns out I owned 2 and 3 and not the original. Guilty pleasure film for me.

Was sure I had this, but guess I just really knew the cover from ads and netflix or whatever. Might pop it in tonight.

This is the exclusive title of the month, signed by the director and writer. And while the exclusives are usually low budget and poorly reviewed fare, this one seems solid, with a good review here.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

I hate bogarting the thread, but before I forget and to follow the trend, here are the trivia answers I emailed Chad:

1- What films give me nightmares?

The Evil Dead (1&2) - The demonic voices are what does it. I get shivers just thinking about them.
Jaws - While not living up to the tag line ("You'll never go in the water again."), my favorite film can give me water nightmares.
The old ventriloquist dummy horror film, Magic, gave me nightmares for years as a kid.

2 - favorite King adaptations

Pet Semetary - Solid film all around, perhaps in my top twenty horror.
The Shining - Yeah, I know it departs greatly from the book, but it's a near perfect film.
Misery; this one could go into the nightmares answer too.

3 - favorite versions of Dracula

Pretty sure the original will always rank up near the top for me. Love me some Bela.
I'm a sucker for the Frank Langella version, not entirely sure why.
And Christopher Lee of course.

So-called horror movie fans that haven't seen The Omen make Damien angry:

One of my top-3 versions of Dracula that seems largely forgotten now is the 1977 BBC Count Dracula (starring Louis Jourdan).

It's too bad they never made a [real] sequel starring them. They had great chemistry.

Man's Best Friend. Forgettable movie; kick-ass dog.

Caution to anyone watching today's subset pick, Under the Shadow, in Netflix. Mine defaulted to some English overdub. You might prefer to set it to the original language, Persian, and turn on the subtitles.

We watched part of this for Halloween in junior high. I got the DVD several years ago.

Apparently Scorpion Releasing's blu-ray of Dario Argento's Opera will be on Amazon.com within the next two weeks; this will be for a regular edition with a 'deluxe' edition to come in a few more weeks.

Speaking of Mondo Macabro, I'm still bummed I missed the red case for Spider and Fox With a Velvet Tale - their edition of Blood Splattered Bride should be good.

I forgot about Man's best friend. The dogs from The Watchers series are pretty good, too.

Horror dogs would be a good theme night.

They mentioned there will be some red case leftovers for Fox, although they won't be listed until sometime next year.

I'm still waiting on my order for those and the Jose Larraz double feature from months back thanks to the Dorado Films fiasco.

Re: Trevor and Joy Ride. I own the first one. Saw it one night on HBO when I was doing my annual tour in the Air Force Reserve. Soon after bought a copy to have of my own. I have never seen 2, but watched 3 for the first time on SyFy a couple nights ago. I enjoyed that one too, but actually showing Rusty Nail took a little bit away from the movie for me.

I've decided to work more on my DVDs, Blu Rays, and Google Play, since I own a lot of movies and TV shows. Right now, I was in the mood for kaiju, and since I watched Gammera The Invincible a week or two ago, decided to put in War Of The Monsters. I love me some Barugon.

Agree. Louis Jourdan's Dracula is in my eyes the best version of Dracula ever done and then Hertzog's Nosferatu would be second

I caught the original version of The Pack last week. This is before CGI, so they had to coordinate a 'rampaging' pack of dogs in several scenes. There are at most 2 snarling dogs in the bunch, while the rest are just having a good time. Some of the scenes have the dogs going nuts.

The Universal Classic Monster collection on bluray is $35.99 on Amazon, looks like a good price, I wish I had the money to buy it.

If you bought from Amazon UK, it's always been cheaper, and still is. It's also region free. Right now after conversion rates to USD, it's only $19.25

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-C...dp/B008H45YSO/

Same deal with Hitchcock collections and the Netflix Marvel shows that are released region free over there long before a North American release. I usually get the Marvel stuff from Zavvi since they have good sales on those all the time.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

If you care about packaging, the UK release is in digipak cases with 2 overlapping discs per tray while the US release is the paperboard "book" w/discs in page slots type. I'm not crazy about either of those package types but prefer the digipak over disc pages. The UK version has a booklet about the films (which I'm guessing has the same text as the disc pages in the US version) and a lobby card for each film (is that in the US release?).

According to camelcamelcamel that US price is the lowest it's been (outside possibly a LD or BR sale - those aren't tracked).

I've been trying to randomly watch stuff on Netflix when I haven't planned out theme/subset films and it's interesting because there's a bunch of ghost/supernatural movies and some zombie stuff but really not a ton of obvious vampire films on Netflix [The Transfiguration was great].

I watched Summer of Blood, which is a 'Woody Allen' style awkward character observational comedy on adult/relationship topics including vampires, it was serviceable and I appreciated some of the focus on humor but not great.
