Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/
Having watched 10 Friday the 13th movies over the weekend, the question arises: Who is the better dancer?
Jimmy (from Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter)
Or Violet's "robot" (from Friday the 13th: A New Beginning)

I'll go for Jimmy out of both of them, not only better dancer but had the better death. "Ted, Ted, Where's the corkscrew."

I'd say McFly gets points for energy, but I wouldn't say he's the better dancer.

50 movies in and I finally got some good Clint Howard action!
And Crispin Glover always wins. Except maybe against the girl from Troll 2.

Crispen Glover's Timmy danced like I did in the 80s. And that's not a good thing. And it didn't end with me having sex with a hot twin Though to be positive, I avoided death by corkscrew.

I actually liked Violet's robot dance. I wish we had more of her in that movie. And thinking about F13th: ANB, all those deaths could've been avoided if: stupid fat Joey could've just put down the chocolate bars for ONE DAMN MINUTE. Granted, killing him with an axe was pretty extreme. But man ... he was sure annoying in that scene that ended up with his death.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/
I too will share this one. Great trilogy of Q's:
1) Three Movies that Gave You Nightmares:
--- Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives: My dad rented this one night and decided we were old enough to watch it with him. I was 9 or so, my brother was 7. We spent most of the thing hiding behind comic books while our kid sister laughed at us for being so afraid.
--- Child's Play: Though not really because I saw the whole thing. An aunt was playing it at a party when I was 10 or so and the kids had to stay in another room. We heard it all, though, and I was brave enough to peak around the corner and caught a glimpse of Chucky. Insta nightmare!
--- The Muppet Movie: I used to think Sweetums was hiding in my heating vents and never stepped over them for fear he would pull me down. He just wanted to go to Hollywood.
2) Three Favorite Stephen King Adaptations:
--- The Shining
--- Stand By Me
--- It (the new one!)
3) Three Favorite Versions of Dracula
--- Bela Lugosi in Dracula (1931)
--- Duncan Regehr in Monster Squad
--- Christopher Lee

Feel free to include anything from a Gorezone cover for today's theme since it was a sister publication to Fango, and briefly came back before going away. That's qualification enough.
That just dawned on me, otherwise I would've mentioned it much earlier. And added this link.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/
Here are my trivia question answers.
1. The OHMC13 theme is dream logic...
What 3 films give you nightmares?
1. The Tingler (1959)
2. Donovan's Brain (1953)
3. Horror Hotel (1960)
Actually, none do any more. Those 3 gave me some when I first saw them as a kid loooooong ago.
2. "It" continues setting the box office ablaze...
What are your 3 favorite Stephen King film adaptations?
1. The Shining (I think of this as a Kubrick film, not King)
2. The Running Man (Until a few years ago I had no idea this was based on a King novel)
3. Carrie (because I couldn't think of anything better)
I've never cared much for Stephen King's printed or film adapted work. "The Shining" has always struck me as more Kubrick than King and "The Running Man" is just average SF. "Carrie" is there simply to have a 3rd film as, other than those first two, there's nothing based on his work I'd willingly watch again.
3. TCM's Monster of the Month is Dracula...
What are your 3 favorite versions of Dracula?
1. Dracula (1931)
2. Horror of Dracula (1958)
3. Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)
I read this differently than most of you did. I went for adaptations of Stoker's novel rather than who did the best portrayal.

Ok. It's time to take the plunge. Rob Zombie's Halloween, here I come. Gulp. If you don't hear from me, someone skull-fucked me to death. Obviously.

I'm still on pace to make 100 before the end of the month. I just hit 50 with a viewing of Resident Evil: Extinction. So far this was my favorite movie of the series. The world really began to look like the victim of a zombie apocalypse. Other reasons for my enjoying it so much was first, the introduction of Albert Wesker. Second, seeing the Tyrant was a great pleasure for me. If you can't tell, I've played some of the games, and am a big fan of them.

There is a local horror festival that plays every February. One year they had a showing of The Tingler, including all these Castle props. That was such a fun show.

I'm taking this week off from week. I'm enjoying taking some extended time for horror viewing, and it's good to be able to take care of my dog full time right now since he has a UTI. The really good news is that I'm only about three movies away from completing the checklist. I need one writer, one language, one actor, and one decade. I can actually get that accomplished in two movies. I might give it a push tonight.

Finishing up Zombieween right now...
I haven't watched this in years because I just hated it so much the first time. The second time? I still don't like it, but the stuff in Haddonfield is halfway watchable. If they cut the Myers family stuff, the bullies at school, and asylum portion out of the movie and expanded on the teens, it would have been much better...kind of like the original did. The first hour was unbearable, though.

Congratulations to clckworang on the win; cheers again to Hamilton Books / GoldenWheels for the prizes.
Work got in the way for me today; but I still managed to knock out Curse of Chucky and Ganja and Hess.
Blair Witch Project is one of my favorite horror movies; I can see some of the problems with it but regardless it usually ends up scaring me - maybe I'm just nostalgic. Sometimes it's funny to stumble on a movie I use to enjoy and really see how it's not as great as it use to seem. Watching Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (which was on the cover of Fangoria), it was never well regarded but I can especially see the blemishes.

I've bought Fangoria magazines over the years but looking through their covers it occurs to me that they essentially spoil the scariest, most shocking elements of whatever movie they're covering. Curious what the monster in Jeepers Creepers looks like? You can watch the movie to let the suspense build to an effective reveal, or pick up Fangoria and see a well lit depiction of the make-up/effect.

Congrats, clock!
Yeah a number of character deaths would always get spoiled everytime as well (I remember some big ones for Deadly Friend And From Beyond) On a related note for today’s theme, I picked a title that appears on the sidebar on a cover: Lurkers (turned out to be meh) One “sidebar” movie that I’ve been looking forever for is Dracula’s Widow. I just cannot find that one. I think it used to be on YouTube but (surprise) it was Russian-dubbed.

I only got one more movie in yesterday. I showed a friend of mine REC 2. She had already seen the first one, and it was great for the checklist. It got me my last needed language and last needed writer. I ended up crashing out during the next movie, The Devil Within Her. I'll catch up on that one a little later today.
To start today, I'm going to finish off that damn checklist, perhaps earlier than I ever have in any challenge. I'm going to watch 1934's The Black Cat for the last decade and actor I need. I'm thinking of having a lighter morning today, meaning not another morning that includes something like Martyrs. That was a weird movie trying to watch shortly after waking up.
Yes, you can watch any of the subset movies on any day. The theme is the only thing fixed on a particular day.

Watched House of the Devil last night to cleanse my palate after Martyrs. I've heard nothing but good things about HOTD, and it was a big letdown for me.
I've seen Tom Noonan everywhere this month, and I really like him. It seems like I'm seeing a lot of the same actors in the past few days (Bait, You're Next, Late Phases).

Good lord, Torture Dungeon is going to be the low point of this challenge for me. It'll be tough for something else to match the 0/5 rating I gave it.
