Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date
Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule

Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

You can watch any movie that has been on the cover of either magazine. My pick today is Prophecy, a 1979 flick about a mutant killer bear that was on the cover of Fangoria #2.

That was a childhood favorite of mine. Well, mostly the trailers built it up to a favorite, I wasn't allowed to see it as a kid.

Congrats clckworang!
Looking forward to getting back on track today. Yesterday was my favorite day of all themes, and I spent most the day disassembling my upright dryer to try a little DIY. No idea what I'm doing, but I do know I only got three anthology movies in. I have to say that Tales of Terror is probably my favorite Vincent Price piece. The Kino Lorber Blu-ray is 70% off right now. I highly recommend. I'm going to watch it again when the challenge ends.

Man, I had some crazy dreams last night. A huge vulture swooped down and carried the cat off. I had been complaining about cleaning out the litter-box, so I wasn't surprised by that. He did wake me up this morning wanting to be fed.
Also dreamed of the house being attacked by a raging mob of hyenas. It was bizarre as they only attacked after dinner, and disappeared around midnight, but it when on for days.

We weren't allowed to watch it either when I was a kid, but my mom finally relented when I was 13 and we watched it on TV one day. I still love it but I haven't seen it in years. I was thinking about trying to track it down today.

That new Tales of Terror BD was in my to-watch pile until I swerved into my Creepshow marathon. Maybe later in the month.
Today's frustration is in trying to find my Martyrs DVD.

Congrats clckworang! Thanks to sponsors!
Last night, I watched Black Sabbath, one of my favorite horror anthologies. Boris Karloff's introductions are great; he seems to be having such fun! I got the Kino's release of the AIP version really cheap, and I wish that they had done a little more to restore the film. Parts look pretty good, especially the last segment, but several scenes are muddy and unfocused. I need to do some research to see if the Italian version release is better.
Afterward, I finally watched The Color Out of Space, a German adaptation of a Lovecraft short story. It's been on my AmazonPrime watchlist for quite some time. The film successfully translates the tone of Lovecraft's prose to screen. A young American goes to Germany in search of a friend and finds an old man who met his father during WWII. The man tells him a horror story about a family whose farm is struck by a meteor. It's a slow burn with mounting weirdness and dread.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/
1. What 3 films give you nightmares?
-Nightmare on Elm Street- I was at a very impressionable age when this came to theaters. The blood soaking through the ceiling still makes me cringe to this day. There's something very unsettling about a guy who can get us in our dreams, when we are most vulnerable.
-Frankenstein - Growing up, I would watch horror movies with my brother under the bed. My mother chased him around the house with a broom one day after Frankenstein induced nightmares the night before.
-Orca- Even the ABC Sunday night edited for TV movie gave me real problems growing up. These movies became strictly forbidden until I was about 13.
2. What are your 3 favorite Stephen King film adaptations?
-Pet Semetary - Fred Gwynne!
-The Dead Zone- This is one of my favorite Walken movies. The SNL skit, Ed Glosser, Trivial Psychic is just the funniest. This feels quite relevant to me, the 'evil' politician taking us to Armageddon.
-Shawshank Redemption- Not horror, but a great adaptation.
3. What are your 3 favorite versions of Dracula?
-Dracula (1931)
-Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) - I could write an entire page about this adaptation. Reeves as Harker still doesn't spoil it for me, but I am aware.
-Dracula, Prince of Darkness (1966)
Congrats clckworang! Thanks one awesome prize pack!

I can't believe I'm a winner! That is one epic prize pack. Thanks so much to Hamilton Books for the generous contributions. I can't believe I'm finally the lucky recipient of one!
I pretty much agree. There were some things that didn't work (the words on the screen annoyed me), and I think it went on a little bit longer than needed, but I was still entertained. It was a fun watch.

Reeves is indeed cringe worthy in that movie, but the visuals are just so strong that it's easy to overlook. I'm waiting on a good price on the UHD.

Like WillieMLF, I thought I would also share my responses the the trivia question!
1) Three Movies that Gave You Nightmares:
--- Suspiria (1977): After watching it, I’ve had nightmares about the maggot scene. A few nights ago, I had the nightmare about my new apartment. It was horrifying.
--- I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997): Watched part of it at a friend’s house before I got scared and made some excuse to leave. I didn’t sleep well for days and had slasher inspired nightmares for weeks.
--- Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964): The Bumble freaked me out as a kid, and I had many nightmares about large eyes peering through windows.
2) Three Favorite Stephen King Adaptations:
--- The Shining (1980)
--- Carrie (1976)
--- Christine (1983)
3) Three Favorite Versions of Dracula
--- Bela Lugosi in Dracula (1931)
--- Klaus Kinski in Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht (1979)
--- Voice of Peter Stormare in The Batman vs. Dracula (2005)

One of my "nightmare" movies that probably won't show up on other lists ... Attack of the Mushroom People (aka Matango). As with many older horror movies, I first saw this on Saturday afternoon "Creature Features" in the 70s as a kid. What this movie showed me ... if you eat mushrooms, you turn into a mushroom monster I've refused to eat any kind of mushroom ever since!

One of my nightmare movies was also the original Night Of The Living Dead. That movie used to really scare me when I first saw it as a kid.
