The full reboot helped on my Roku, but I watch on my tablet a lot too, and that's where a lot of my streaming issues are, due to poor cell phone signal.

Waiting for my limited edition Blu-ray set of the three Sinbad movies to arrive from Amazon UK. Probably won't be in time for this month now, but I'm still excited for it. It'll go well with my other Harryhausen set! Of course I have them on DVD, but that's a double-dip I can live with!
Quoting from the rules: "This is the challenge where any and all types of animation is welcome, computer, hand drawn, puppetry, stop motion, etc. The entire movie/show does not need to be completely animated. Something like Roger Rabbit or a Ray Harryhausen film would generally be allowed." Hope that helps! |

I have all three Sinbad movies on digital. Been planning to watch them, but haven't got around to it yet.

This morning, I watched the final episode of Power Rangers: Dino Super Charge, on Nicktoons. Seeing the final episode piqued my interest, and now I'd like to watch the rest of the series. Maybe I'll start with Dino Charge to see where it all began.

I never knew that there were so many Ultraman series. I just looked on Crunchyroll, and saw a bunch of them. Just finished watching the first episode of the newest series, Ultraman Geed.

It took 28 days but I finished my Babylon 5 re-watch. The CGI doesn't really hold up that well but the characters and most of the stories are still solid (well except for that one storyline in season 5).

No problem, I host that one too so the rules are pretty clear in my head right now.

I had a sci-fi dream last night. I dreamt I was in an episode of Lost In Space, and Dr. Smith was turned into a monkey.

Re: 10th Annual Sci-Fi/Fantasy Challenge Discussion Thread
I finally got around to watching Emissaries: Galacticon III this morning. I've had it on digital for the past two or three years, but never sat down to watch it. It had very good coverage of Galacticon III. The best part of the documentary was when the late, great Richard Hatch made a speech at the Closing Ceremonies. He said how he'd be 90 years old if there was another Galacticon in 20 years. I wish he'd have been alive to see that.
Being this is the last weekend, I plan to focus most of my watching on Challenge content this weekend. Right now I'm watching an episode of Beyond Belief With George Noory, on Gaia, where he is interviewing a lady about ghosts and spirits. |

Re: 10th Annual Sci-Fi/Fantasy Challenge Discussion Thread
In my regular check of Moria for new reviews I saw one for a film called The Sand he rated fairly well so I read his review and then looked it up at Amazon as it sounded interesting - if the price was low enough. Even better, it's on Prime viewing so I check IMDB and see it has a SF genre tag. I watched it this afternoon. It's actually not too bad, better than the 3.8 IMDB rating would have you believe, and has some decent visual effects. It also has a Horror genre tag so if you don't get to it this month, there's always Rocktober. :)

Re: 10th Annual Sci-Fi/Fantasy Challenge Discussion Thread
It won't count, as it is not TV/Movie or radio, but this is still fantasy related. Tonight, I started rereading my Dragonlance books, and right now, I am on Chapter 7 of Chronicles Volume 1: Dragons Of Autumn Twilight?

P.S. Since posting this earlier this morning, I watched today's rerun of Ninja Steel (episode #6: My Friend Redbot) on Nickelodeon and enjoyed it. New episodes will premiere on August 12 (finally!). |
Re: 10th Annual Sci-Fi/Fantasy Challenge Discussion Thread
I'm thinking of doing sci-fi animation today, to get me in the mood for the start of the animation challenge, but I doubt I could finish a whole series. Most of my animation counts for this month's challenge, so it's more a matter of watching some episodes of a series, and then switching to another series.

Leviathan would be a great B horror film if Alien and The Thing didn't exist. It pretty much rips off it's best parts from them. Still, it has a solid cast and score, and is somewhat fun. I'm not positive I ever saw or own DeepStar Six, but I imagine I'll be able to at least youtube it. Seems like it was received the worst of the three. Looking forward to re-visiting The Abyss, it's been awhile. |

I don't know if you would find it interesting but I just watched Deep Rising with Treat Williams and Famke Janssen. Personallly, I enjoyed the three you mentioned more and I was considering rewatching the Abyss again but I thought Deep Rising was an enjoyable addition to monsters on the ocean movies.
More underwater monstertime! Well, assuming I have that DVD. It's probably here somewhere.... |

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but at one point, I think there was an option in the checklist for reading something that applied. Or am I thinking of another challenge. It would definitely be before I took over hosting for this challenge, though. Winding down myself. Still have a few movies I wanted to watch but keep on finding myself picking something else. Leaning towards Pan's Labyrinth tonight but not sure I have the focus. :/ Still debating. |

Never quite got into Dragonlance books myself, but I'm rereading David Eddings' Belgariad. About to start book three. My all time favorite fantasy series, hands down. You could list what you're reading if you wanted, but it wouldn't really count for the checklist.
**EDIT** I just fixed that issue by ordering the series. Have you read "The Malloreon" - the sequel to "The Belgariad?" **END EDIT** I've read "The Elinium" trilogy and have the "Tamuli" series but haven't yet read it. I have 75 or so novels awaiting my attention, one of which is the "Dragonlance" trilogy (my copy is an all-in-one volume).

I started a re-reading of "Dracula" a few years back and am still working on it (a few pages at a time between/around/during other books when I think about it). Good film, but a tough choice, especially if you're tired/worn out. Being in a foreign language, that one requires my full attention for the subtitles. I have to carefully plan films like that one. Maybe that's where I'm remembering the book option from. I've only participated in the Horror challenge once. I ended up watching Doctor Strange as I knew I couldn't focus on the subtitles right now. There's still tomorrow, but it'll likely be something I hold off till next year or maybe during October. |
