Black Candles (1982) - Well...just when you think you have seen everything... Easily one of, if not, the sleaziest film I will likely watch this month. If you like nudity in your films, then this is the horror film for you. They didn't have to spend much on wardrobe as the cast is naked as much, if not more, than clothed the entire movie. I am not one to complain except the women have bushes that are larger and thicker than a mink stole. The main woman in it has a fantastic body but an awful haircut. The sad part is, the film just isn't very interesting. There are a couple of gross out parts but those do not save the film. I didn't dislike it but it wasn't very good either. The twist ending is lazy.

I will have to revisit this one later to make up my mind whether to keep it or sell it.

Anyone else here seen it? If so, post your thoughts. I would like to hear what you think of it...good or bad.

It's been probably half a decade since I watched it but I remember all of the sudden the girls are in some clinic type building and the people that run it had their reasons for doing what they do, which I remember being just plain stupid, and there was some dumb resolution and then it ended.

It was a movie that these days I'd turn off before finishing but I was forcing myself through the first part, which I didn't care for and then the last part was somewhat jarring and the explanation for everything didn't seem fully thought out/realistic.

I just now went and read the wiki article for the movie and yeah, what little I remember sounds about right. It also made me remember thinking that it was just trying to be another graphic horror movie with a lame plot trying to ride the coattails of other popular ones but since the violence wasn't cheap looking, people were acting as if the movie was good but over time it would be seen more as overrated.

I'm not at all implying anything about you since you mentioned you liked it, this is just my general opinion.

I don't enjoy movies that are "so bad they're good". I like B-movies that stand on their own merits in addition to having a campy feel and relatively low budget.

It helps to have few responsibilities outside of work. My kids are grown and gone and, while we keep them a few hours every afternoon, the grandkids are usually gone by 6ish. I also put everything else on the back burner as much as possible. I leave Saturday and Sunday (outside attending morning church services and afternoon choir practice) fully open for movie watching. But I have enough for 3 per day loaded up on the Fire tablet just in case.
