Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Fun movie that's very reminiscent of A Bucket of Blood, but with a vampire.

Though the duplicates annoy me, I really shouldn't complain because I only own the UK set on BD and The Mummy set on DVD so this is my first time buying most of these.

Today, I watched Manos: The Hands of Fate from Mill Creek's "Best of the Worst" set. That was a boring slog. I ended up adding little blurbs on my list while watching it. To me the taste out of my mouth, I opened my new BD of The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, one of my favorite comedies. The picture looks great, and I noticed a detail that I'd missed. At the town picnic, there's a banner that reads "Rachel, Kansas - Birthplace of Wheat and Democracy". I also watched my shiny new copy of The Phantom of the Opera (1925). I realized partway through that I hadn't seen it since watching my VHS in high school. It's my favorite adaptation of the story, and I find the Phantom to be pretty creepy.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

Since the month is halfway over (this month has gone by kind of slow, thankfully) and I'm just finishing #52, thought I would list some of the best ones I have seen and the ones I wish I could take back. First, the Duds:

The Collection (torture porn is dead)
We Are Still Here (Don't care what critics say, I hate monsters/ghosts/demons that have no rules and regulations)
Contracted 2 (What made the first one decent is lost in this film and is a waste)
Cropsey (huge waste of time and utter disappointment on a true story)
Joy Ride 3 (not like the original at all)
Return to Sleepaway Camp (has to be one of the most annoying characters ever created in film history)
Jaws 3 (they should have stopped while they were ahead)
Hunger (I honestly have no idea what I watched or why I watched it. Biggest waste of time yet)

And movies that really surprised and entertained me:

Clown (very surprised at how entertaining this was)
The Woman in Black (MUCH better than the first time I saw it)
The Snowtown Murders (extremely disturbing and well done)
Jaws 2 (on par with the original)
Dark House (great cast with a fun story)
Honeymoon (one of the most well done slow burning films I have seen recently)
The Ones Below (Great acting and interesting story)

The Halloween Sale is now up at Vudu.

http://www.vudu.com/movies/#uiPage/169

They have some good stuff in the $4.99 HDX section. I already own most of them, but I found a few to buy:

The Wailing (2016)
Thirst (2009)
The Sentinel (1977)
Hidden (2015)
Curse of the Werewolf (1961)

I also grabbed these MGM titles for $7.99 HDX:

Pumpkinhead (1988)
Invasion of the Bodysnatchers (1978)

For today's theme movie, I went with Reptilicus. I was going to go with a Universal Frankenstein movie, but all of the ones on the list, I had already watched this month on TCM. So, I thought why not watch a giant monster movie. I've heard it compared to Godzilla before, but being more like a giant snake, to me he looks more like Manda.

Are there any giallos not listed for today's theme that have thunder and lightning storms? Doesn't Blood and Black Lace have one? Started watching it one time, but I can't remember. I'm going to go through the choices again, but I was really in the mood for something foreign with atmosphere for this theme.

Unless I'm missing something, Suspiria isn't on our list and that's got epic thunder and lightning!

The Night Evelyn Came Out Of The Grave (1972)

Argento loves to use dark stormy night scenes:

Suspiria (1977)
Tenebre (1982)
Trauma (1993)
Sleepless (2001)

Maybe it just depends on how well users have input keywords in IMDB. Let me play with advanced search and see if I can get a bigger list.

Also, people shouldn't be afraid to add key words to IMDB. It will only help others in the future. Of course, someone added "werewolf" to Fright Night, so please try to be accurate.

Changing the keyword to "storm" adds more titles, and I imagine still qualifies. Just films in the below:

Walking Dead season 1 also 99 cents at Amazon Video.

And "heavy rain" adds Suspiria and probably others.

Playing catch up from a LONG weekend, where I was able to get in a good number of movies. This is my first year attempting 100 and I'm not entirely sure how y'all do it. Some of these movies are staring to invade my dreams, and I had Wolfcop show up last night..... he was actually going through the refrigerator throwing away all the old lunch meat. Strange...

The only way I can do 100, is I'm retired, so I don't watch just horror. I watch other things to keep from being burnt out.

Good work. I'm an idiot for not thinking of this, but it was early and I was in a panic to try and figure out a film to queue for later.

I happened to catch Manos on MST3k this past Sunday night. I am firmly convinced that is the only way anybody can sit through the movie without wanting to gouge out their eyeballs.

Black Candles (1982) - Well...just when you think you have seen everything... Easily one of, if not, the sleaziest film I will likely watch this month. If you like nudity in your films, then this is the horror film for you. They didn't have to spend much on wardrobe as the cast is naked as much, if not more, than clothed the entire movie. I am not one to complain except the women have bushes that are larger and thicker than a mink stole. The main woman in it has a fantastic body but an awful haircut. The sad part is, the film just isn't very interesting. There are a couple of gross out parts
Spoiler:
one with a goat and one with a sword...and I will just leave it at that
but those do not save the film. I didn't dislike it but it wasn't very good either. The twist ending is lazy.

I will have to revisit this one later to make up my mind whether to keep it or sell it.

Anyone else here seen it? If so, post your thoughts. I would like to hear what you think of it...good or bad.
Black Candles is in the queue!

It was a movie that these days I'd turn off before finishing but I was forcing myself through the first part, which I didn't care for and then the last part was somewhat jarring and the explanation for everything didn't seem fully thought out/realistic.

I just now went and read the wiki article for the movie and yeah, what little I remember sounds about right. It also made me remember thinking that it was just trying to be another graphic horror movie with a lame plot trying to ride the coattails of other popular ones but since the violence wasn't cheap looking, people were acting as if the movie was good but over time it would be seen more as overrated.

I'm not at all implying anything about you since you mentioned you liked it, this is just my general opinion.

I ended up watching the remake this weekend. My memory was pretty hazy on the original, but parts started to come back as I watched the remake. The new one really didn't add too much, and I felt it was just trying to top the original in shock value. I probably would have turned it off, but I was already 30 minutes in, and I didn't want to forfeit a view.

Thankfully, my eyes are still intact. I got through by using the time to update my list with little blurbs. I also outlined a campaign to reorganize my home office. Then I weeded my living room bookcases. So it was a productive 70 minutes!

It helps to have few responsibilities outside of work. My kids are grown and gone and, while we keep them a few hours every afternoon, the grandkids are usually gone by 6ish. I also put everything else on the back burner as much as possible. I leave Saturday and Sunday (outside attending morning church services and afternoon choir practice) fully open for movie watching. It helps that most of what I like and watch is from the 1930-1970 era which tend to be 70-90 minutes in length and that I save the longer ones for weekends. By going that route I can typically get in 3 per day and as many as 10 on Saturday. I also tend to wake very early (around 4-5am) and can often get one in before work. But, yeah, I'm a bit burned out by the end of the month and am already feeling the effects this month (hit 79 this morning) but I'll be out of town the next 3 days for business and don't expect to watch more than 2-3 total. But I have enough for 3 per day loaded up on the Fire tablet just in case.

I watched it au naturale for the first time myself. It was bearable, but only because I was remembering Joel's riffs and creating my own as I watched it.

That is a strange one, but I somehow watch it almost every year. Can't really explain why, it's not great by any means, but the kid's performance is good.
It was one of my first horror DVD purchases iirc, so that nostalgia and a cool DVD cover draws me to it.

I don't enjoy movies that are "so bad they're good". I like B-movies that stand on their own merits in addition to having a campy feel and relatively low budget.

Examples in this category that I've seen and like:
  • Night of The Creeps (1986)
  • Repulsion (1965)
  • Night of the Living Dead (1968)
  • Martin (1977)
  • Shivers (1975)
  • Friday the 13th (1980)

Thanks!!!

How about:

I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958)
The Green Slime (1968)
Shock Waves (1977)

I hit 100+ last year because I was not working. This year, however, I have a long commute and a demanding job, so if I hit 50 it will be a miracle.
